He said “We are firmly committed to our Resolute Support Mission in Afghanistan and the heads of state and government made last year a decision to continue our military presence in Afghanistan, to continue to provide funding for the Afghan National Army and Security Forces and to develop the political partnership with Afghanistan.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg announces four robust multinational battle groups will be deployed on the Alliance’s eastern flank in June in response to Russia’s aggressive actions against Ukraine, according to an UNIAN correspondent in Brussels. “We discussed the progress of the deployment and I expect all four battalions to be fully operational by June” Stoltenberg said.
