Damascus: Defense Minister of Russian Federation clarified that no attack were carried out in that area

Iraqi Kurdistan and Russia talk about cooperation

On Monday, the Foreign Minister of Kurdistan’s Regional Government, Falah Mustafa Bakir, had a meeting in Moscow with Mikhail Bogdanov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and Representative for the Middle East and North Africa, to discuss the current situation in Iraq. In an interview realesed to russian newspaper, Izvestia, Bakir outlined the issues that have been addressed, namely; request to support the Peshmerga forces, who have been fighting against terrorism; relations between Iraqi Kurdistan and Russia; fight against terrorism; refugees in Iraq; perspective of russian mediation through the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Erbin and further strenghtening of economic, political, cultural ties between Russian Federation and Iraqi Kurdistan; current state of affairs in Syria. Russia declared is avaible to provide the necessary support to the fight against terrorism. Moreover, the Government of Iraqi Kurdistan is confident about the approval of Russia, as one of their allies, in the event of Iraqi Kurdistan reaching indipendence from Iraq, since negotiations have already been opened on that issue with Baghdad.

Russia: humanitarian pause will continue if militants do not attack

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Monday that despite the humanitarian pause in Aleppo was officially over, Russia would not resume military operations if militants do not launch new attacks. “The humanitarian pause, as such, had a clear time frame, but the cessation of operations of the Russian Air Force will continue,” he added, stressing that whether it will continue will depend greatly on the militants’ next steps.

Seven other peacekeepers, also from Togo, were wounded in the attack in the central Mopti region, according to the statement by the UN mission, known by the acronym MINUSMA. Raqqa's capture: NATO allies will work together

The Boko Haram army lost 46 soldiers

The Nigerian army has lost almost 46 soldiers to Boko Haram insurgents, including high profile lieutenant- colonel Abu Ali. He and his soldiers were ambushed by Boko Haram fighters who killed over 40 soldiers and lost 14 of their men. An official said the attack occurred at Mallam Fatori, a major Boko Haram stronghold on Friday. Abu Ali was hit by several bullets as he and his men fought to repel the insurgents. As the fight against the insurgents gets tougher, the Army have also raised the alarm over suspected sabotage by some highly-placed elders in northeast who are aiding the insurgents.

Saudi Arabia and China: more cooperation over terrorism and security

Saudi Arabia and China agreed to step up cooperation on various key issues including security, cordial ties and counter-terrorism during talks held in Riyadh on Sunday. The talks in Riyadh follow the signing of 15 preliminary agreements between Saudi Arabia and China in August, touching on a wide range of fields from energy to housing, during the visit of the deputy crown prince. The crown prince and several ministers attended the meeting, which also reviewed the strategic partnership and future cooperation to boost bilateral ties.

Boko Haram' razes kills two soldiers

Boko Haram jihadists killed two soldiers and razed a village adjoining the northeast Nigerian town of Chibok where the group kidnapped more than 200 schoolgirls two years ago, residents said Sunday. “Boko Haram gunmen attacked the village around 19:30. They fired indiscriminately and hurled explosives,” resident Bitrus John told AFP. “They killed two soldiers and injured another one in gunfight,” he said. Troops patrolling the area engaged the Islamists in a shootout, allowing residents to flee the village unhurt, said John.

Palestinian landowners against postponing evacuation of illegal Amona outpost

Palestinian landowners filed an appeal to the Israeli Supreme Court on Sunday rejecting demands to postpone the evacuation of the illegal Israeli outpost of Amona, according to a statement by Israeli human rights group Yesh Din. The appeal was filed by Israeli lawyers Michael Sfard and Shlomi Zacharaa, and called on the court not to respond to the demands of the Israeli State Attorney’s office, which requested the postponement on the basis that it could not arrange alternative housing for the residents of Amona before the target date of December this year.
