Operation against IS has turned into a medieval massacre

On Sunday, Russian Foreign Minister’s Spokeswoman, Maria Zakharova, asserted that the operation against Islamic State terrorists conducted by the U.S.-led coalition in Iraq’s Mosul in conditions of absolute information blockade, has turned into a medieval massacre. According to Zakharova, the situation is worsened by the lack of systemic approach to evacuation of civilians. She also added that nothing like humanitarian corridors has been provided. A ground operation to liberate Mosul from terrorists of Islamic State began on 17th of October. It involves the Iraqi troops, Kurdish units and the US-led coalition. On 31st of October, Iraqi’s forces began assaulting the city.

Ten people died in two different accidents: boat mishap and tanker explosion

Tragedy struck in Mokwa and Katcha council areas of Niger state yesterday where 10 people were feared dead in two different accidents involving boat mishap and tanker explosion. While seven people were feared killed when they drowned in Katcha local government area, Tanker explosion killed three in Mokwa town.

The newspaper LEADERSHIP gathered that those drowned in Katcha as a result of the boat mishap comprised of four female and three children. The accident happened along River Gbako, a tributary of River Niger in Katcha local government area of the state.

An illegal settlement was built by Israeli settlers near a military checkpoint

The Israeli daily, Haaretz on Sunday said that the Israeli settlers have a new settlement gathering near an Israeli military point in the northern part of the valley, five kilometers away from two other settlements. The settlers have arrived to the area two months ago and built a “tabernacle” and left. A few days ago, they went back to the area and levelled the land and began to build. According to the coordinator of the Israeli Authorities, the building is illegal and does not have permits and the authorities will halt the building and might even confiscate the equipment.

Houthi rebels’ attack to Makkah condemned by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation

The Organization of Islamic Cooperation has condemned in the strongest terms Yemen’s Houthi rebels, backed by the militias of deposed president Ali Abdullah Saleh for targeting the holy city of Makkah with a ballistic missile. The executive committee of the OIC held an emergency ministerial meeting on Saturday to discuss the serious developments represented by the launching of the missile by the Houthi-Saleh militias. The meeting denounced the rebels and those who provide them with arms including rockets and missiles to target Makkah. The meeting termed it an act of aggression against the holy sites in Saudi Arabia, “which is a provocation for world Muslims and evidence of their refusal to comply with the international community and its demands.”

Netanyahu asks the US to continue supporting Israel

PM Netanyahu made a public plea on Sunday to the US to continue its support for Israel and not seek a UN resolution on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, “whoever wins” Tuesday’s election. In an apparent message to incumbent US President Barack Obama, Netanyahu told his weekly cabinet meeting he expects the “United States will remain true to its commitment for many years that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict can only be resolved through direct negotiations without pre-conditions, and of course not through decisions by the United Nations of other international bodies.”

Relations between Canada and Saudi Arabia are distinguished

Canadian Foreign Minister Stephane Dion said relations between the Kingdom and his country are distinguished. He was speaking Friday while he met with the president of the Saudi Human Rights Commission, Bander Al-Aiban, in Ottawa. He said human rights in the Kingdom are witnessing tangible developments. Dion said during the meeting that relations between the Kingdom and his country are excellent and that goes for human rights development in both countries. They discussed a number of other issues of joint concern, the relations between the two countries and ways of developing them. Al-Aiban highlighted the Kingdom’s efforts under Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman in supporting human rights issues at all levels, in addition to what Saudi Arabia does to uphold justice.

Bomb ridde next to Mishtara checkpoint safely detonated by Israeli Police

Palestinian security passed on information to Israeli forces on a large bomb that they suspect was targeting the IDF in the Hebron area, Palestinian security sources said Sunday. The bomb, made up of an explosive charge attached to a large gas canister, was hidden next to the Mishtara checkpoint on the outskirts of the southern West Bank city. The bomb was found on the side of the checkpoint controlled by Palestinian security. It was safely detonated by sappers from the Israel Police bomb squad on Friday night, Israeli officials confirmed.

2 civilians killed and three injured by Saudi air strikes in Nehm

At least two citizens were killed and three injured in air strikes by US-backed Saudi aggression fighter jets when targeted their car on the public road in Nehm district of Sanaa province overnight. 11  air strikes were launched by the Saudi aggression between Nehm and the Bani Matar district causing damage to citizens` houses and private and public properties.

A Twitter social campaign against the Saudi-led coalition

A social campaign of tweets on Twitter to break Saudi aggression siege on Yemen is began on Sunday night at 8:00pm (Yemen’s local time). The campaign holds a slogan reading :”Together to break international silence towards all-out siege and starvation imposed by Saudi-led coalition against the Yemeni people”. The campaign calls on free people in the world to take part to expose the complicity of the international community in supporting the Saudi aggression crimes against the Yemeni people.
