Guterres expressed his full support to Cheikh Ahmed (UN envoy to Yemen)

During a joint press conference in Riyadh with Foreign Minister Al-Jubeir, UN Secretary-General Guterres expressed his full support to UN evnvoy to Yemen Cheikh Ahmed. He also underlined the key role of the Kingdom in guarantee the stability of the region and fight terrorism.

UN chief met Deputy premier and Minister of Interior ,who praised UN efforts to achieve global peace and stability, and Minister of Defense, who discussed latest developments in Middle East (in particular in Syria and Yemen).

Al-Jubeir talked also about the situation in Yemen and the good relations between the Kingdom and the US.

UN Secretary Guterres: “Saudi’s stability is a model for the pursuit of change and growth”

During his first visit to Saudi Arabia, the UN Secretary General Guterres said “Saudi’s stability is a model for the pursuit of change and growth”. He also added that the cooperation between the Kingdom and the United States is key to fight terrorism. To what concern the humanitarian crisis in Yemen, Guterres expressed the necessity that yemeni parties don’t take advantage of humanitarian aid. On the other hand Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister Jubeir remembered the 70 agreements which the Kingdom made with Houthis and ex-President Saleh and that were never implement. Nevertheless the Kingdom will continue send humanitarian aid to Yemen.

Civilians striked again by the saudi aggression warplanes

Civilians are under attack by the saudi aggression warplanes in several governorates. Four rides were waged on Sa’ada district and two others on Kutaf district. Saudi aggression artillery also shelled al-Shiekh area in Sa’ada province. Two airstrikes were launched to Hodeida’s Airport and sea port while in Taiz province the warplanes hit al-Waza’eih district three times. Fighter jets launched 11 strikes in Hajja province, 5 airstrikes in Mareb province and four raids on Najran province.

al-Assiri ousted yemeni President Saleh

Maj. Gen. al-Assiri in an interview with Russia’s Sputnik and RIA Novosti news agencies said that ousted yemeni President Saleh as a Yemeni citizen will be subjected to trial based on Yemeni law over the “criminal” coup in the country. The Arab coalition also said that all groups that supported the coup will be considered as one body that led Yemen to the destruction and hardship it is currently facing. Furthermore the Arab coalition added its support to the legitimate government.

Yemen won’t suspend counter-terrorism operations with the US governments

After the US commando raid in Al-Bayda against al-Qaeda, which killed many civilians, Yemen won’t suspend counter-terrorism operations with the US governments. Sana’a had not withdrawn its permission for the US to carry out special terrorism operations but the country and President Hadi expressed their reservations about the last operation. Any operations carry out in Yemen should be in consultation with Yemen authorities and should prevent civilian casualties.

President calls UN to stop Saudi aggression on Yemen

The United Nation were asked by the President of Supreme Political Council, al-Sammad, to oblige the saudi-led coalition states to end the siege on Yemen. The letter sent to the UN also asked for opening the ports and airports for commercial and civil flights (Sana’a International Airport, Taiz Airport, Hodeida Airport). al-Sammad also asked to not extend the term of the current UN envoy to Yemen Cheikh and to form a neutral committee to investigate the saudi aggression coalition’s crime against civilians.

32 combats killed in western Yemen

As loyalist forces of President Hadi advanced into neighborhood of Mokha 32 combats were killed on Wednesday in a battle for a key coastal town in western Yemen. 24 Houthis were killed and 12 of that were taken to an hospital in Mokha, while 12 others were militias and were buried after they were found by advancing troops. Between the soldiers 8 were killed and more than 400 combatants have been killed since the government forces launched their offensive in the Red Sea coastline. So 32 combats is just the bill of today.

6 airstrikes against Al-Jawf governorate launched by Saudi-American aggression's warplanes

The Saudi-American aggression’s warplanes launched on Thursday six strikes against different areas in Al-Jawf governorate, killing a citizen in Al-Masloub area. Coalition continues to strike Saada province with a series of air raids on various areas; the aggression warplanes targeted al-Qarrad area in Baqem border district and al-Dhaia’a area.

Seven raids on Sanna province launched by Saudi aggression warplanes

US–backed Saudi aggression warplanes launched seven raids on several districts of Sana’a province overnight. One air strike destroyed the house of a citizen in Hazm area of Arhab district north of the province. Meanwhile, the army and popular forces killed dozens of Saudi-paid mercenaries in Mareb Province on Wednesday. The national forces attacked the mercenaries while they were driving on a military vehicle belonging to the Saudi aggression in Harib-Nehm area, western the province, the official said.

Houthi attack on the border repelled by Saudi armed forces

Saudi armed forces guarding on the southern border thwarted an attack by the Yemeni Houthi militias and forces loyal to ousted President Ali Abdullah Saleh before daybreak on Sunday. The attack was staged opposite the Alab crossing-point in the southern Zahran region. Members of the Saudi forces were able to kill up to 40 of the attackers, while Arab coalition planes targeted a large group of militiamen across the Saudi border, an army source said, and also conducted a hot-pursuit operation inside Yemen to cleanse one of the locations that has pockets of Houthi militiamen and Saleh supporters. Meanwhile, the forces allied with the legitimate government in Yemen are involved in fierce battles to the west of Tashreefat to stop the Houthi militias from entering the region.
