Saudi Arabia dismantles four ISIS cells, 18 arrests

The interior minister confirmed the arrest of 18 individuals in the Kingdom belonging to four islamic state in Iraq and Syria. Fifteen of them were Saudi citizens and the other three were from Yemen and Sudan. During the arrests about two million riyals were confiscated and the spokesperson for Saudi Arabia’s interior ministry al-Turki said most of those arrested supply materials to the ISIS cells in Riyadh. The ministry affirmed that ISIS cells in Saudi Arabia have spread to Mecca, Medina, Riyadh and Qassim regions.

300 civilians kidnapped by Houthi militias in the district of Ramid

300 civilians were kidnapped by the Houthi militias in the district of Ramid maybe in revenge for the killing of Houthis commander Al-Alwi last Friday in the district. Before kidnapping civilians, militias raided the houses, drove out families by force and now they continue to surround the village blocking its entrance and exit points. The majority of the civilians kidnapped are children and according to local and international human rights reports many of the detained are subjected to torture,beatings,flogging and electrocution and exposed to frost and ironing with fire to force them to confess crime they did not commit.

KSA: World Bank cooperates in Yemen's reconstruction

King Salman and President of the World Bank Jim Yong Kim met in Riyadh and dicussed aspects of cooperation between the Kingdom and the World Bank Group. Kim expressed the Bank’s desire to partecipate in the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. The President of the World Bank also met with Deputy Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman and the two talked about cooperation on reconstruction of Yemen to overcome the current crisis and make available of the basic needs for Yemeni people.

Gatilov: there isn't only the fight against terrorism in Yemen, but also the intra-Yemeni conflict

At the opening of an annual student conference in Moscow, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Gatilov said the humanitarian disaster in Yemen is a tragic catastrophe. In Yemen there is not only the fight against terrorism, but also the intra-Yemeni conflict, which is a serious humanitarian disaster. As Gatilov said about 80 percent of the population in Yemen is affected by humanitarian crisis, but western countries are more focused on what is happening in Syria. Finally he said that a solution should be found.

Saudi aggression warplanes continue heinous strikes against civilians

Airstrikes on several provinces by the Saudi-led coalition continue. In Hodeida 3 people were killed in Saudi air raid and in Hjjah province the saudi aggression warplanes launched 18 air strikes, damaging public and private properties. In Mokha district in the province of Taiz 6 members of a family were killed by a Saudi air strikes on ther house. There were also used cluster bombs in Mareb province and 3 citizens were killed and 4 wounded in a Saudi air strike in Baqam district of Sa’ada province.

Arab coalition declares Yemen's Hodeida a military zone

The city of Hodeida in Yemen was declared a military zone by the Saudi-led coalition. Due to this decision civilians should stay in their home and avoid clashes until further notice. After the recapture of the city of al-Mokha, 20 rebels and government troops were killed overnight in clashes that erupted the day after government forces seized control of the area. A military source said the death tool stands at 14 rebels and 6 troops and 8 dead were confirmed by a source of Hodeida hospital.

Protect Yemen civilians is one of the top priorities for the Saudi-led coalition. The coalition forces have an interest in restoring legitimacy in Yemen and show concern for the lives of civilians and for humanitarian rights. The coalition is constantly working with UN organizations and International Red Cross and Red Crescent societies to support humanitarian effrots. There is also an independent team which is working to develop investigation procedures on accidents and incidents and provides reports about each incident. The coalition is trying to evacuate civilians in conflict areas before launching airstrikes on hiding places of Houthis and other rebels but Houthis are using civilians as human shields and deliberately hid fighters and weapons near civilians in al-Mokha and Taiz to avoid being attacked, evenf if in violation of international humanitarian law.

Yemen: Violation of human rights in the port of al-Mokha, 200 houses destroyed by the airstrikes

The United Nations Human Rights Agency warned about violation of international humanitarian law and international human rights law over the past two weeks in the south wester port of al-Mokha. Even if it was impossible for UN Human Rights office field monitors to acces the area, credible reports indicate that civilians were caught in an intolerable situation. Probably 200 houses were damaged or completely destroyed by the airstrikes. The UN also estimates that around 12 million people are facing famine in the country and 3.3 million people are already malnourished.

Concerning what Saudi Foreign Minister al-Jubeir and UN Secretary General Guterres said in a press conference, Yemeni Foreign Minister Sharaf said is a lie and an attempt to mislead the media. This misleading media campaign was founded by Riyadh leadership in order to deceive the Arab and world public opinion. The intent is to show Saudi Arabia as a key to the peace of the region. Sharaf also underlined the Saudi responsability of killing more than ten thousand Yemeni people and destroying the infrastructures that damages the yemeni economy.

Saudi Arabia and Turkey share same views on issues such as Yemen, Syria, Iraq and terrorism

Turkish ambassador Yunus Demirer talking about the visit to the Kingdom of turkish President Erdogan, told the source that “the visit comes at a significant time and context”. Saudi Arabia and Turkey share same views on regional issues such as Yemen, Syria, Iraq and terrorism and for that reason their cooperation is very important to guarantee the stability in the region. Turkey ambassador also said that Gulf region is a priority in their external relations and he also added that Saudi Vision 2030 is an excellent opportunity for the future of bilateral economic relations.
