Security Forces attack killed 6 Daesh fighters

Jalalabad (BNA): six Daesh fighters were killed in security forces attacks in Nangarhar province.
The fighters were targeted last night in their hideouts in Achen and Kot districts.
Ataullah Khogyani spokesman for Nangarhar governor told BNA that, in the raids, six Daesh affiliates were killed.
He said several hideouts of them were also destroyed.
Another report says that two weapons caches of Daesh and Taliban groups were discovered in Nangarhar province.
The caches have been kept in Hasakamina and Batikot districts.
According to security officials of Nangarhar province, several heavy and light weapons were also seized from the caches.

58 armed opposers killed, 23 others wounded in joint operations led by Afghan security forces

At least 58 armed opposers including 10 ISIS fighters group and two local commanders of Taliban were killed and 23 others were wounded during joint operations led by Afghan security forces in 18 provinces of the country. Ministry of National Defense spokesman press office told BNA that the operations were conducted with support of Afghan air and artillery forces in relevant areas of Nangarhar, Kapisa, Paktika, Logar, Ghazni, Kandahar, Urozgan, Zabul, Herat, Nimroz, Faryab, Sar-e-Pul, Kunduz, Badakhshan, Balkh, Takhar,Kandahar and Helmand provinces. Some weapons, ammunitions and war equipment have been discovered and seized during the operations as well, the source added.

Air raids in Nangarhar province killed 19 ISIS members

Nangarhar province presence of recent air-raids on ISIS fighters’ stances. The raids were led during the past 24 hours in some parts of the province in which 19 ISIS fighters were killed. Attahullah Khoghyani Nagarhar governor spokesman, confirming the incident said BNA that the ISIS fighters were busy in organizing a series of terrorist attacks in their hideouts targeted and killed in Rodat and Kot districts of Nangarhar province. According to another report, Afghan security forces prevented a series of explosions in Nangarhar province with cooperation of local residents. According to the report, the mines were planted by Taliban and ISIS fighters in 6 highways of eastern province discovered and defused by Afghan security forces.

170 opposition members killed or wounded by Afghan security forces in the last 9 months

170 armed members of the opposition were killed and wounded during Afghan security forces’ routine activities within the last 9 months in central Kapisa province. Sayed Mohammad Khalid Hashimi Governor of Kapisa told BNA that 20 military operations have been conducted by Afghan security forces in insecure areas of the province, particularly in Tagab, Alasay and Nijrab districts during this period. Hashimi appreciated the achievements and progresses of Afghan security forces during their activities in different parts of the province. Also members of provincial council of Kapisa expressed their pleasures regarding achievements of Afghan security forces in insecure areas of Kapisa.

2017: NATO would continue supporting NUG

NATO would continue supporting NUG in 2017 too, said a NATO representative adding that it would extend its political, economic and financial assistance to ANSF until 2020. The main goal of NATO, he continued, is to not allow Afghanistan once again to be changed into a terrorist sanctuary and to achieve this goal, NATO will continue its mission in Afghanistan. Although the Afghan government claims that in 2016 war on corruption has been successfully carried out with good outcomes. The Afghan government said that it has established the counter-corruption Legal and Judicial Center (CCLJC) to investigate corruption cases and the CCLJC had proven effective in preventing of corruption. But the NATO emphasizes that the NUG should strongly supervise the Reforms and good government because NUG has pledged to the world community to prevent and take firm steps for restoration of peace. NATO believes that diplomatic channels should be used for settlement of current Afghanistan problems, because war is not a solution.  And for this purpose NATO supports Afghan peace program and NATO has asked the region and payers to take effective role in restoration of peace.

Aids have been distributed to hundreds of war-torn and refugees’s families

Jalalabad City (BNA) : foodstuffs and cash have been distributed to hundreds war-torn and refugees’ families in northern Nangarhar province. The families left their houses due to presence of Taliban militants or returned from Pakistan to Jalalabad city the provincial capital of the province. In-charge of refugees and repatriation department in Nangarhar told BNA, in this round more than 300 war-torn or refugees’ families have received assistances. The assistances continuing for displaced and destitute families in the province, source added.

Kandahar: 8 anti-government militants died in clashes with Afghan security forces

Kandahar City (BNA): more than eight anti-government militants were killed and several others were wounded during recent conflicts with Afghan security forces in southern Kandahar province. The clashes took place, while a group of Taliban militants stormed on security checkpoints in Spin Boldak district of the province yesterday. Military official in south of the country told BNA, eight armed oppositions including a Pakistan citizen were perished following the clashes. The terrorist group after giving casualties forced to flee to Pakistan, the source added.

3 civilians killed by ISIS militants

People affiliated with ISIS shot down three people that had no connection with security forces. It happened in Darzab district of Jawzjan province. Abdul Hafiz Khashi security in-charge of Jawzjan told BNA that ISIS militants attacked on local police forces security posts faced with security forces resistance and fled but the 3 people killed were just civilians. ISIS militants carried their dead bodies with them, and it’s not clear why they didn’t handed over their bodies to their families.

Meeting between Russia, Chins and Pakistan to discuss about security in Afghanistan

Russia, China and Pakistan met on 27 of December in Moscow, to discuss about security and also about the increasing of terroristic activities and attacks in Afghanistan by groups like IS. However there was no inclusion of Afghanistan in the meeting. The participants focused on the necessary to continue the efforts to assist the reconciliation process in the country and the promotion of peace but the Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmad Shekib Mostaghni said that the meeting without any representatives of Afghanistan does not make sense. It could be easily read like an interference in the national affairs.

Interior Minister of Pakistan said that no terrorist network existed in the area

Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said on Wednesday that no terrorist network existed in the area, adding that after Operation Zarb-e-Azb terrorists had either been killed or escaped. He said that Pakistan wanted to establish peaceful relations with neighbouring country, Afghanistan, but it should not incited by others for imposing allegations on Pakistan. Speaking to reporters in Landi Kotal, the Minister said that peace in Pakistan is closely linked to peace in Afghanistan. “We want peace on both sides of the border,” he said, adding that Afghanistan accuses Pakistan even for crimes it has not committed.
