Russian and Turkish Air Forces attacked Daesh in northern Syria on Monday

The Russian Aerospace Forces and the Turkish Air Force, along with Turkey’s artillery have carried out several operations against Daesh in northern Syria, Daily Sabah newspaper reported on Monday. Russian aircraft attacked Daesh positions in the Dayr Kak region located in the vicinity of the Daesh-held city of al-Bab, the Daily Sabah newspaper reported citing Turkish military officials. The newspaper added that the activities of Turkey’s aircraft and artillery in northern Syria near al-Bab had killed 22 Daesh jihadists.

Fire broke out following an explosion at a gas pipeline  

A fire erupted after an explosion at a gas pipeline in Azerbaijan on Monday morning, the country’s Ministry of Emergency Situations said on Monday.  “A large number of equipment and fire brigades have been dispatched to the scene of the accident,” the Ministry said. “The gas supply through the main gas pipeline of 1000 mm diameter has been suspended.”  The fire that broke out following an explosion at a gas pipeline in Sangachal settlement, has been extinguished, the country’s Ministry of Emergency Situations informed.

Congressman Jorge del Castillo Gálvez, a member of the Aprista Party, a center-left political party, said that will present the amendments to the current law on public procurement in the National Accord forum meeting of January 5. Vessel of fire: 17 people still missing, 23 dead

A search resumed on Monday for 17 people reportedly missing after a ferry fire off the coast of Indonesia’s capital that left at least 23 dead, officials said. The victims died on Sunday when the vessel, Zahro Express, carrying more than 260 people from a port near Jakarta to Tidung, a resort island in the Kepulauan Seribu chain, caught fire, officials said. Most of the passengers were Indonesians celebrating the New Year holiday, according to local media reports.

Terrorist attack in Istambul: 2 Indian nationals killed

NEW DELHI: External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj today said two Indian nationals were killed in the terrorist attack that took place in Istambul, Turkey, earlier in the day. “I have a bad news from Turkey. We have lost two Indian nationals in the Istambul attack. Indian Ambassador is on the way to Istanbul,” Swaraj tweeted. The Minister said in another tweet that the victims are Abis Rizvi, the son of a former Rajya Sabha MP, and Khushi Shah from Gujarat.
