Saudi Navy engaged in mine-sweeping on Yemeni shores planted by Houthi militias

The spokesman for the Saudi-led coalition, Maj. Gen. Al-Assiri, told Arab News on Saturday that the Saudi Navy is constantly engaged in mine-sweeping on Yemeni shores planted by Houthi militias. Many naval mines were found near the southwestern port city of Mokha and were there to target the international shipping boats and for that reason the Saudi-led coalition warned the international maritime movements. Moreover few days ago there were an incident, a fishing boat hit a mine off the Yemeni shores and seven fishermen were killed. In fine since January forces allied with the national Yemeni government have controlled the strategic port near Mokha and the US Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) warned of the risk of mines in the strait of Bab al-Mandab.

300 civilians kidnapped by Houthi militias in the district of Ramid

300 civilians were kidnapped by the Houthi militias in the district of Ramid maybe in revenge for the killing of Houthis commander Al-Alwi last Friday in the district. Before kidnapping civilians, militias raided the houses, drove out families by force and now they continue to surround the village blocking its entrance and exit points. The majority of the civilians kidnapped are children and according to local and international human rights reports many of the detained are subjected to torture,beatings,flogging and electrocution and exposed to frost and ironing with fire to force them to confess crime they did not commit.

Haradh battlefront’s leader killed during clashes

Houthi leader of Haradh battlefront, Mohammed Ali al-Arjali was killed, during clashes on Tuesday, Al Arabiya sources revealed. Yemen’s National Army had initiated a wide military operation against Houthis and ousted President Saleh with the support of the coalition aircrafts. The coalition had paved the way for these operations through a series of shells targeting militias’ sites in Haradh, Midi and the Tawal border crossing. Field military sources reported that these artillery bombing engendered dozens of deaths and injuries in the ranks of the militias. Dozens others were detained and military vehicles and equipment were also destroyed. Meanwhile Saudi Arabia’s air defense systems destroyed a Houthi missile on Tuesday, headed to Najran.
