UNESCO forum in Riyadh focuses on youth participation.

UNESCO forum for NGOs (2017) is held in Riyadh and for the first time in Saudi Arabia, stressing the importance of major and deepest involvement of youth, which could affect positively not only under economic side, but also social one worldwide. The Event was in partnership with Misk Foundation. The two days conference was about developing new innovative and technological ideas, which allow youth participation. It is really important creating new channels, through which it could be possible to civil society and NGOs expressing what they think and promote and especially develop a new dialogue among youth. Al-Ghafis, Labor saudi Minister, has declared to assure this partnership in all matters useful to building community. In addition to this, most of new opportunities are developed by the involvement of MiSK Foundation. This project is in compliance with Vision 2030, but also with National Transition’s Program 2020. One of the most importante challenges is involving young people in working fields, giving them the possibility of participating to decision-making process.

Riyadh reaffirms support for two-state solution to Israeli-Palestinian conflict

After talks with the italian counterpart Alfano, Saudi Foreign Minister al-Jubeir expressed support to a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital saying “This is the settlement that we believe is a fair and just settlement”. Concerning the solution of this conflict Trump said last week that he could accept both a two-state solution or a single-state solution if agreed by all sides, evenf if his administartion affirmed its support to a two-state solution. During the talk with italian counterpart, the two discussed challenges to the Middle East peace process as well as Syria,Yemen,Iraq,Libya and the role of Italy in Kingdom Vision 2030.

Saudi Arabia dismantles four ISIS cells, 18 arrests

The interior minister confirmed the arrest of 18 individuals in the Kingdom belonging to four islamic state in Iraq and Syria. Fifteen of them were Saudi citizens and the other three were from Yemen and Sudan. During the arrests about two million riyals were confiscated and the spokesperson for Saudi Arabia’s interior ministry al-Turki said most of those arrested supply materials to the ISIS cells in Riyadh. The ministry affirmed that ISIS cells in Saudi Arabia have spread to Mecca, Medina, Riyadh and Qassim regions.

KSA: World Bank cooperates in Yemen's reconstruction

King Salman and President of the World Bank Jim Yong Kim met in Riyadh and dicussed aspects of cooperation between the Kingdom and the World Bank Group. Kim expressed the Bank’s desire to partecipate in the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. The President of the World Bank also met with Deputy Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman and the two talked about cooperation on reconstruction of Yemen to overcome the current crisis and make available of the basic needs for Yemeni people.

Al-Jubeir and Guterres conference is false, Sharaf weighs in

Concerning what Saudi Foreign Minister al-Jubeir and UN Secretary General Guterres said in a press conference, Yemeni Foreign Minister Sharaf said is a lie and an attempt to mislead the media. This misleading media campaign was founded by Riyadh leadership in order to deceive the Arab and world public opinion. The intent is to show Saudi Arabia as a key to the peace of the region. Sharaf also underlined the Saudi responsability of killing more than ten thousand Yemeni people and destroying the infrastructures that damages the yemeni economy.

Guterres expressed his full support to Cheikh Ahmed (UN envoy to Yemen)

During a joint press conference in Riyadh with Foreign Minister Al-Jubeir, UN Secretary-General Guterres expressed his full support to UN evnvoy to Yemen Cheikh Ahmed. He also underlined the key role of the Kingdom in guarantee the stability of the region and fight terrorism.

UN chief met Deputy premier and Minister of Interior ,who praised UN efforts to achieve global peace and stability, and Minister of Defense, who discussed latest developments in Middle East (in particular in Syria and Yemen).

Al-Jubeir talked also about the situation in Yemen and the good relations between the Kingdom and the US.
