Egypt appoints permanent NATO envoy.

Egyptian ambassador to Belgium had been appointed Egyptian ambassador to the NATO (which also seat in Brussel). This new permanent mission toward the NATO will avoid Egypt to maintain a permanent link with the NATO, and influence its decision if necessary. The NATO secretary General, Jens Stoltenberg, told that : “Egypt being so close, a key nation, we, I, expressed from the NATO side that we are ready to help build structures, defence institutions in Libya”. So in front of the Middle-East situation, this New permanent mission could have a great impact on future decisions about the Middle-East.

Syrian air defense shots down one of 4 Israeli warplanes targeting military site near Palmyra

The General Command of the Army and the Armed Forced announced on Friday that the Syrian air defense downed one of four Israeli warplanes that violated the Syrian airspace and targeted a military site in the eastern countryside of Homs. According to a statement by the Command, the four Israeli aircrafts violated the Syrian airspace in al-Breij area through the Lebanese territories at 2:40 am.

Syria: Israel uses anti-missile system Arrow-3 in first.

In clashes last night – considered the most serious since the start of the civil war in Syria – Israel used for the first time the Arrow-3 anti-missile defense system against a rocket launched by the Syrian anti-aircraft missiles after an Israeli air raid, military radio reports. The radio spoke about a ”dramatic night”. The system has been conceived and built to intercept and destroy ballistic missiles. Fragments of the Israeli Arrow missile fell on Jordan territory.

Forty-two people, mostly civilians, have died in an air strike on a mosque in a rebel-held village in northern Syria, a monitoring group says. The US said it had carried out an air strike, killing several al-Qaeda militants, but had not hit a mosque. “We did not target a mosque, but the building that we did target – which was where the meeting [of militants] took place – is about 50ft (15m) from a mosque that is still standing”, spokesman Col John J Thomas said.

China, Saudi Arabia eye $65bn in deals.

On the first day of visit of King Salman to Beijing he oversaw the signing of deals potentially worth $65 billion and that for chinese foreign affairs analysts is a “win-win” situation for both countries. The deals consist of 35 projects that include covering productive capacity, trade, space industry, new energy and education. Moreover, as Dr. Degang Sun of the Institute of Shangai International Studies University said, “the two sides’ econmies are supplementary to each other” and this is proved by China’s “One Belt,One Road Initiative” and Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, which are two strategies compatible to each other. Concerning these strategies, China perceives Saudi Arabia as the principal state in implementing its strategy and Saudi Arabia will enhance the diversification and industrialization of the Saudi economy in the next decade with China’s investments and trade. He also said Saudi Arabia is “looking east” and China is “looking west”.

US defense chief, Saudi deputy crown prince discuss about military cooperation and terrorism

During his visit to the White House, the Saudi Deputy Crown Prince and Defense Minister Mohammed bin Salman on Thursday met US Defense Secretary James Mattis. They discussed about military cooperation and terrorism,which are two connected issue because to fight terrorism and terroristic groups the two countries need to cooperate militarly. They also discussed the biggest threats of the region, which is not only terrorism but also Iran and its “destabilizing regional activities”.

11 Afghans among 46 suspects arrested under Raddul Fasaad: ISPR

Joint search and intelligence based operations were conducted by Punjab Rangers, police and intelligence agencies in DG Khan, Lahore, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Sialkot, Shakargarh and Jand, Attock and Sheikhupura under the umbrella of Pakistan Army’s countrywide operation Raddul Fasaad, Inter-Service Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement. According to ISPR, 46 suspects were apprehended, 11 of which belonged to Afghanistan. Weapons and ammo were also recovered from the detainees.

No strategic patience for North Korea anymore.

U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson declared an end to the Barack Obama administration’s policy of strategic patience in dealing with North Korea, Friday, vowing to explore all options including harsher sanctions and military action. The U.S. top diplomat also stressed the importance of China’s role in forcing Pyongyang to abandon its nuclear and ballistic missile programs, urging Beijing to stop taking retaliatory actions against South Korea over the deployment of a Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) battery here.

 

Italy seeks to bolster Libya migrant deal as arrivals surge.

Italy will host a meeting between European and North African countries next week in a bid to strengthen support for an agreement it struck with Libya to fight people smuggling as migrant arrivals surge. The President of the GNA (Governement of National Agreement), al-Seraj will meet his Italian counter-part Gentiloni, and interior ministers of 8 EU countries. Italy will guide the operation, this recall its participation to the training of Libyan’s coast guards (duly criticized few weeks ago). The “Movimento 5 Stelle” had clearly expressed its opposition to the Italo-Libyan accord, and had called to the come back of Italian’s diplomats from Tripoli.

Nora is a city situated 500 kilometres away from Bomako, here the prices for 20 litres of water may even arrive at 500 FCFA and over in certain places. The lack of water, nowadays, make it very hard , especially to the poors, to survive. In this period of the year the situation get even worse because of the heat. Water is as precious as the silver. At Nora the administration of the water is led in two different ways, on one hand we have the SOGERHE (society of the management od hidric resources) which support breeders who posses houndreds of cattle and ovines. In this affair the population is the only victim: the water is served only after midnight and sometimes is necessary to wait til 20 hours to get it.
