In an interview with FOX News Channel’s Bret Baier Egyptian president Abdel Fattah el-Sisi praised President Trump and talked about the ongoing crisis in Syria. The Egyptian leader said he fully trusts “the capability” of the U.S. president. El-Sisi told that the “vacuum” created by Obama administration has permitted Russia to increase its influence in the region. El-Sisi told to FOW news: “I think that they are defending their interests” talking about Russia in Syria.
Egypt’s President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi stressed strengthening ties with France during a meeting on Tuesday with a delegation from the Egyptian-French friendship committee headed by Catherine Mouran, head of the education and media committee in the French senate. Egypt has recalled the importance of its ties with France, France has answered with the importance of Egypt in the counter-terrorism policy.
UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres stated there is no alternative solution to the two-state solution in resolving the conflict between the Palestinians and Israelis. Guterres statement came during a joint press conference with Egypt’s Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry in Cairo. Guterres met with President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi Wednesday to discuss regional developments and cooperation between Egypt and the United Nations. On regional issues, the UN chief underlined the importance of carrying on with the Geneva track on ending the Syrian crisis, as well as providing a suitable atmosphere for reaching national reconciliation in Libya.
