A policeman killed, another wounded in western Baghdad bomb blast

A policeman was killed and another one was wounded when an explosive device exploded in an area west of Baghdad. The bomb was planted on the side of a road in Rafoush area, west of the capital, and went off when the police patrol was passing by, according to the sources. The United Nations Assistance Mission in Iraq (UNAMI) has said that violence in the country lef 1115 casualties, excluding security members, during March. Baghdad was the second most affected province with 84 deaths and 246 injuries, according to the organization’s monthly casualty count. It excludes death toll among security members after Iraqi authorities had asked to get such information exclusively from security commands.

At least 30 people were killed and 45 others injured in a suicide attack targeting a courthouse in the center of the Syrian capital. According to Tasnim dispatches, Takfiri terrorists detonated a bomb in the Hamidiyeh neighborhood and targeted the Arab country’s Palace of Justice, killing 35 people and injuring 45.

Two teenage female suicide bombers have been shot dead by troops as they tried to sneak into the city of Maiduguri. The two were wearing explosive vests under their clothes when they were shot dead Saturday night. It resoned a deafening explosion in Maiduguri, but it was only the result of the detonation of the bomb. Apart from the two girls ( who where in their late teens) no one else died nor has been injuried. In the same day, Nigeria Army has shot down a Boko Haram kingpin too, in this operation 211 captive civilians has been rescued. Suicide bombing by teenage girls it’s a typical Boko Haram strategy strategy. Since two years over 200 such teenage girls have lost their lives helping Boko Haram to attack both military and civil populations around north-east Nigeria and less than ten of them survived the mission. One of the girls that recently reneged on the mission by refusing to detonate her explosive told security operatives that they are made to believe that the explosives would not harm them. She said they were told that they would disappear to a safe haven where they would be married to handsome husbands of their choice and then live an eternal life of happiness.

Police colonel killed in bomb attack in Sinai

A North Sinai police colonel was killed Wednesday night in a bomb attack on a security checkpoint in North Sinai, Egypt’s interior ministry announced. Colonel Yasser El-Hadidi was killed when a bomb exploded near his patrol in El-Arish, in the vicinity of the city’s third police station, the ministry said on its official Facebook page.Three other policemen were also injured in the attack. No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack, which comes only a few days after the army said security forces arrested 12 “extremely dangerous” leaders of Ansar Beit Al-Maqdis in central Sinai. Ansar Beit Al-Maqdis, the main Islamist group battling the Egyptian state in North Sinai, has changed its name from “Sinai Province” to the “Islamic State in Egypt”.

Car bomb kills 45 people in southwestern Baghdad

An explosion occurred in southwestern Baghdad on Thursday killing 45 people and wounding another 56 second the CNN. The explosion was due to a car bomb which hit a busy car market in the predominately Shia district of al-Bayaa. Medical sources told Reuters that the death toll is expected to rise as the wounded are in critical condition while ISIS claimed the responsibility with an online statement.
