Polish tourists will go back to Tunisia, ambassador of Poland in Tunis Lidia Milka-Wieczorkiewicz said Wednesday in Tunis. Several Polish tour operators have already started charter flights to Tunisia on the basis of two flights a week, the diplomat added at a meeting in Tunis with the civil society to assess Poland’s support for democracy in Tunisia in the period 2012-2016. According to the diplomat, Polish tour operators have envisaged an increase in their tourist activities to Tunisia during the high and the after-season 2017. “Two flights will be operated every Thursday to and from Polish cities Warsaw and Katowice,” said the ambassador. According to her, the Tunisian Minister of Tourism will soon travel to Warsaw to meet her Polish counterpart and the country’s tour operators and biggest travel agencies. During this meeting, she added, an overview will be given on the democratic transition process initiated in Tunisia and prospects for the development of Tunisian tourism. “The objective of this trip is to identify ways to bring tourism professionals together in both countries in order to increase tourism flows in both directions,” she added. The Polish tourist market has fallen sharply after the bloody attacks on the Bardo Museum and a hotel in Sousse in 2015.
