During his reception of Senior Yemeni tribal sheikhs on Wednesday, Saudi Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman said Yemen represents “the strategic depht of the Arab nation” and that the biggest mistake of the enemy was to target Yemen, which made all the Arab world alert to what is happening there. The Deputy Crwon Prince also expressed Saudi support to Yemen and also the mobilization of Arabian Gulf states, Egypt, Sudan, Jordan, Morocco and all the arab and Islamic world. On the other side the Yemeni tribal sheikhs thanked the Saudi government for the meeting, for supporting Yemeni legitimacy and for the efforts of the Arab coalition to restore security and stability.
An 8 member Saudi Shoura delegation, led by the Shoura Council’s vice speaker, is participating in a fiveday world parliamentarian’s conference, organized jointly by the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) and the Jatiya Sangsad (national Parliament of Bangladesh), in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The conference was about global unity to fight terrorism and militancy, which are costing human lives, and how to end political and economic inequality. Among the participants of the conference there are 687 members of 131 national parliaments of the world, 45 speakers, 37 deputy speakers and more than 200 women parlamentarians. Moreover a Saudi Press Agency report said “the meeting aims to discuss a number of issues pertaining to the parliament’s role in preventing foreign interference in the internal affairs of the sovereign states” and that the Saudi delegation will also participate in the meetings of Arab and Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) to implement cooperation on regional and international issues and to ensure peace, security and economic equality across the world.
During a celebration on the World Water Day, organized by Ministry of Water and Environment in Sana’a, the Prime Minister Habtoor said the US-Saudi aggression coalition targeted water resources in Yemen, causing a terrible threat to Yemeni people lives and their future. He also condemned the silence of the Arab Summit and the international community for not stopping the US-Saudi aggression coalition war and for not moving to save Yemeni people from this aggression, which started two years ago.
The spokesman for the Saudi-led coalition, Maj. Gen. Al-Assiri, told Arab News on Saturday that the Saudi Navy is constantly engaged in mine-sweeping on Yemeni shores planted by Houthi militias. Many naval mines were found near the southwestern port city of Mokha and were there to target the international shipping boats and for that reason the Saudi-led coalition warned the international maritime movements. Moreover few days ago there were an incident, a fishing boat hit a mine off the Yemeni shores and seven fishermen were killed. In fine since January forces allied with the national Yemeni government have controlled the strategic port near Mokha and the US Office of Naval Intelligence (ONI) warned of the risk of mines in the strait of Bab al-Mandab.
The US Department of Transportation issued a ban against passengers travelling on nonstop flights to the US from Saudi Arabia and seven other Middle Eastern and North African countries, who are banned from carrying electronic devices on board. The ban targets 10 international airports such as King Abdulaziz International Airport in Jeddah and King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, where Saudi Airlines operates nonstop US-bounds flights and which received the information from the General Authority of Civil Aviation. In these new procedures on US-bound flights laptops, iPads and Kindles can only be accepted as part of checked-in luggage. The reason behind the ban is probably the terrorists’ ongoing interest in targeting commercial aviation, including transportation hubs over the past two years and the US Government concern about it. Moreover the UK is also due to announce a ban on laptops and other electronics on certain flights as the BBC reported.
After the meeting with US President Donald Trump, Saudi Deputy Crown Prince bin Salman hailed US President as a “true friends of Muslims” and affirmed he does not believe that Trump’s ban targets Islam specifically also because as senior adviser to Prince Mohammed said “Trump has an unprecedent and serious intention to work with the Muslim world”. Moreover this meeting marked a difference from Riyadh’s relationship with the Obama administration. In fine the White House has announced that the Saudi Deputy Crown Prince and President Trump have discussed potential economic projects worth $200 billion.
Many experts expressed their opinion about King Salman’s visit to asian countries saying that it will carry investments useful to achieve Saudi Vision 2030 and will strengthen relations with the East Asian countries, which will let the Kingdom benefits of trade locations. For the board chairman of the Eastern Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry Al-Otaishan the visit and the openness to these countries will permit the Kingdom to diversify income sources and attract new expertise. The view of the businessmen is that the openness is the feature of the modern era and is key to gain new additions from countries like these which have accomplished a lot in terms of economic growth. Moreover Abdulbari Al-Nuwaihi, professor of economics at Prince Sultan Management College at Al-Faisal University in Jeddah, affrimed that the visit will increase political, milotary and economic cooperation between the Kingdom and these countries beside allow openness to new markets.
The presence of the King Salman has attracted the attention of many parties. It can be liberated by the role of Saudi in the Indonesia society in education, economic, and culture. Indonesia–Saudi Arabia relations are particularly notable because Saudi Arabia is the birthplace of Islam, and Indonesia is home to the world’s largest Muslim population. However there is one thing missing from the media about the arrival of King Salman, namely the role of humanitarian diplomacy Arabia.
The negative role of the United Nations and Security Council in Yemen was underlined by the National Organization for Rights, Freedom and Development. The organization accused the positions and decisions of the United Nations and the Security Council that did not deal with the injustice of the Yemeni people, who are suffering a genocide. Indeed the Saudi aggression during 700 days committed crimes against civilians using also internationally banned weapons, causing more than 30,000 causalities and destroying all the necessities of life. Even results of the last meeting of the Security Council regarding Yemen was not approved by the Organization.
Yemeni civilians and their properties were targeted by US-Saudi aggression fighter jets in many provinces. In Sa’ada province saudi aggression missiles fired on citizens’ houses and two strikes were waged on various areas of the province. In Taiz province a woman was killed by a Saudi-paid mercenary sniper and another fighter jets were launched in Hejjah province. Also in Mareb province civilians houses were targeted by Saudi-paid mercenary artillery. Moreover a strike was launched in Jzan province and other three strikes hit Najran province.
