Oil politics driving Libya closer to failure

New tensions between Libya’s UN.backed government and the powerful NOC (Libyan National Oil Corporation), threatening recent economical recovery of oil sector. On Monday, NOC Chairman Mustafa Sanalla announced that the country has built its oil production up to 760,000 barrels per day and planned to go ahead with plans to expand production to 1.1 million bpd by August of this year. However, Sanalla, has openly criticised GNA policy toward global economy and Oil production on the country. He underlined that Oil will be the “lifeblood of any successful futur government in Libya”, and recalled that during Khadaffi’s time, 90% of Tripoli’s revenues was found on oil production. NOC had been closer of LNA (Libyan National Army) and general Haftar since few weeks, due to his capacity to maintain a unity in oil production.

Due to the elaboration of oil, Saudi Arabia has started a process of recruitment, which involves people coming from all closer and neighboring countries. At first, this recruitment process was supported by the necessity of finding experts and people, who wanted to work on the refining and extracting oil. Problems between recruiter and workers were rare, but once the system of recruitment got illegal and an illecite, it began to appear more problems, because recruiters tried to get more profits through this activity of recruitment, without giving them any guarantees. At first people tried to run away from these jobs, in order to find other better-paid. In the past, who got a recruiter visa went to States, where it was sure to find workers and recruited them. The government, nowadays, has made this process more complicated, establishing the institution of Selection Committees, which are able to find workers on the basis of their qualification and education.

The National Oil Corporation (NOC) has rejected accusations it allowed Libyan National Army (LNA) planes to launch and then attack its targets in the south from the Al-Feel oilfield airstrips. Actually the oilfield is under Presidency Council (PC) and the affiliated guard the so-called Petroleum Facilities Guard (PFG).Salem Abu Rawi spokesman for the ‘Desert Rage’ operation in the south, claimed that the LNA were using the airstrip to strike targets in the south and thus inflicting misery on civilians. In front of the situation NOC (Libyan National Oil Corporation) asked to different forces to stop to drop its organisation in a political conflict, so between different political forces which are trying to lead the country.

Iraq keen to reach agreement with Iran on joint oil fields

Iraqi Oil Minister Jabbar Allaibi said on Sunday his country plans to reach an agreement with Iran on exploitation of the joint oil fields. He made the remarks during his speech at the Iraq Energy Forum 2017. The official said Baghdad is in serious talks with Tehran on joint use of oil fields in the two country’s borders. He called for improvement of relations with neighboring countries to diversify the country’s oil and gas revenues.

Niger Delta Avengers give 7 days to Federal Government and NUPENG to make all oil companies evacuate

The Niger Delta militant group known as Niger Delta Avengers under the leadership of Adaka Boro has vow to go on rampage in seven days. The group in a statement signed by General Edmos Ayayeibo Spokesperson for Adaka boro Avengers, on Thursday, said they gave the Federal Government and NUPENG seven days to immediately ask all multinational oil companies operating in the Niger Delta region to evacuate our territory. As failure to do so will lead to untold calamity on staff and on oil and gas installations.
