Hariri from Doha: We know that our Arab brothers will contribute to the development plan to ensure our stability

Prime Minister Saad Hariri delivered a speech at the opening of the 17th edition of the Doha Forum. “I am pleased to be here with you today on the occasion of Doha’s 17th Forum. This forum is proving its importance year after year in discussing the most urgent political, economic and social issues in the region and the world. It also allows to discuss these issues with leaders, experts, academics and businessmen from around the world to reach solutions that achieve stability for all our countries”, Hariri said. “The most important thing that our Arab region needs today is stability. No security, development or prosperity without stability. This, in my opinion, must be the primary goal that we should achieve together and as soon as possible”.


UNIFIL Head of Mission met separately with Berri and PM Hariri in Beirut

In a press release by UNIFIL, it said: “UNIFIL Head of Mission and Force Commander Major General Michael Beary today met separately with the Speaker of Parliament, Nabih Berri, and Prime Minister Saad Hariri in Beirut”. Release added: “In both meetings, the UNIFIL head thanked the Lebanese leaders for their continued support to UNIFIL in the fulfillment of its mandate in accordance with the UN Security Council resolution 1701 (2006), while noting that Lebanon’s continued commitment to the UN resolution is critical”. Major General Beary briefed the leaders on the situation in the UNIFIL area of operations (AO) and along the Blue Line, further stating that the situation remains calm and stable. He said that UNIFIL has, over the past months, increased its outreach to the local population as well as intensified engagement with local leaders and communities in the Mission’s ongoing efforts to preserve the calm environment and stability.

Hariri will begin tomorrow a European tour: Paris, Berlin and Brussels

The President of the Council of Ministers Saad Hariri will begin tomorrow a European tour starting from the French capital Paris, where he will meet with the French President François at the Elysee Palace. Hariri will deliver a speech during which he will address the plan of the Lebanese government to strengthen stability and development, and face the pressure on the infrastructure and public services as a result of the displaced Syrians crisis, Lebanon’s needs in this respect and the role of the international community in increasing the required aid to face this crisis.

Hariri asks Bassil to inform UNSC about Israeli threats

The President of the Council of Ministers Saad Hariri chaired this afternoon at the Grand Serail a meeting of the Council of ministers, a statement by the Prime Minister’s office indicated on Monday.  Although the session was dedicated to the discussion of the draft budget, Prime Minister Hariri said at the beginning of the meeting: “The repeated threats by officials in the Israeli government, and in the media, against the civilians in Lebanon and their legitimate institutions and infrastructure aim at covering up Israel’s constant violations of UN Security Council Resolution 1701, while Lebanon abides by it and calls for its full implementation”. He added: “I ask the Foreign minister (GebranBassil) to prepare a list of these Israeli official stances announced in the media, and prepare a detailed letter about them to the UN Security Council so that the international community shoulders its responsibility in facing this deliberate tautening and this unconcealed threat to regional stability”.
