Council of Europe approves Tunisia’s application for membership in Lanzarote Convention.

Foreign Minister Khemaies Jhinaoui received the Chair of Lanzarote Committee Claude Jannizzi and he informed the Minister that Tunisia was admitted as membership to the Lanzarote Committee. This committee has the aim of protect children from sexual abuses. Foreign minister commented as positive this event, and hoped that collaborations between European institutions and Tunisian institutions will continue. The aim of this collaboration will be the stabilization of the rule of law, the efficiency of justice, public freedom, fight against corruption in Tunisia. Foreign Minister auspicated to accede at the status of observer in the Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly, in order to help the democratic way that Tunisia started with the revolution.
