According to to the latest surveys this condition has not improved rather has worsened, now US citizens in Mexico are about 1,000,000 of which approximately 934,000 are irregular, according to data provided by the US Department of State. Despite the high number of illegal immigrants Mexico maintains a softer line on the issuewhereas across the border the new administration led by Trump already has repatriated almost 12,000 people of which only 723 were involved in crimes such as drug trafficking or weapons.
