Israeli political leaders have agreed to suspend the authorizations for the construction of about 500 new Israeli settlements in the territory of East Jerusalem claimed by the Palestinians. According to rumors released by the Jerusalem Post would be the Prime Minister Netanyahu to lobby to block the permits, the decision-making pursuant would be taken after listening to a speech by US Secretary of State, John Kerry, who has hinted that the Obama administration does not tolerate any violation of UN resolution. Netanyahu’s decision has angered the Israeli Public Security Minister, Gilad Erdan, who declared that the Obama policy line does not take into account the real situation in the Middle East and constitutes an impediment for the new administration.
