"Turkey's Euphrates Shield Operation" in Syria 'successfully completed'

A military operation launched by the Turkish military in Syria’s north to secure Turkey’s borders has been successfully completed, the country’s top security board has said. “Euphrates Shield Operation, launched to secure our country’s border security, prevent ISIL DEAŞ threats and attack targeting our country, give an opportunity to our displaced Syrian brothers to return their homes and continue their lives in peace and security,has been successfully completed”, the National Security Council (MGK) said in a statement issued on March 29.Launched on Aug. 24, 2016, the Euphrates Shield operation aimed at clearing its border with Syria of terrorists, which include ISIL and the Syrian Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD) forces, which Turkey regards as a terrorist organization due to its links with the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK).

 

Saudi-Jordan joint statement underlines solid bilateral ties.

King Salman’s visit to Jordan aimed to enhance political, security,military, investment,cultural, agricultural, labor, transport, housing and energy cooperation between the two countries. During the meetings of the Saudi-Jordanian Coordination Council and the Joint Jordanian-Saudi Committee a number of agreeements and memoranda of understanding were signed and the development of bilateral relations were ensured. Concerning the Palestinian situation the two sides stressed the “legitimate rights of the Palestinian peopleand their right to establish an indipendent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital”. Moreover they expressed their hope for the success of the 28th Arab Summit that will be held in Jordan and their support in combating extremism,terrorism and violence. They also discussed about Syria and Yemen and the importance of preserve their unity, besides condemn Iran’s interference in the internal affairs of the region’s countries

Two terrorists killed, 4 arrested in eastern Saudi Arabia.

The Ministry of Interior announced on Wednesday that two terrorists were killed and four arrested during a raid of the security forces in a farm in northern Awamiyah used by terrorists in preperaing and planning their acts. Security forces came under fire and killed two terrorists identified as Mohammed Tahir Mohammed Al-Nimr and Moqdad Mohammed Hassan Al-Nimr. Both those killed and arrested were Saudis criminal. Moreover in the farm were discovered potassium, three magazines for machine guns, 71 rounds of live ammunition and a black mask.

North Korea inches closer to testing nukes.

North Korea might have dispatched a fresh batch of devices needed to initiate a nuclear test and analyze data from the explosion, a US think tank said Wednesday, fueling speculation that the communist regime has inched closer to conducting another nuclear test. Analysis of commercial satellite imagery at the Punggye-ri nuclear test site by 38 North, a blog run by the US-Korea Institute at Johns Hopkins University, showed three to four vehicles or trailers at the entrance to the North Portal, where the communist state carried out four rounds of nuclear tests.

The foreign minister Dr. Ibrahim Al-Jaafari met the first vice president of the cabinet, the foreign minister of Kuwait the Sheikh Sabah Khalid Al-Hamad Al-Sabah on the sidelines of the Arab league meetings at the Dead Sea in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. During the meeting they discussed the bilateral relations between both countries and confirming the necessity of deepening it to serve the interests of both friendly people, and discussing the issues of common interests of Iraq, Kuwait and the Arab region. Both sides agreed on the importance of cooperation in all fields, and continuing the Consultations and adopting the Purposeful dialogues to save Arab unity, and facing the regional and international challenges.

Police say recaptured 330 Km2 of western Mosul since start of operations

The service’s chief, Lt. Gen. Shaker Jawdat, said in a statement that his forces took over 62 targets assigned in western Mosul since the start of the security offensive. The troops killed hundreds of militants and destroyed 286 booby-trapped vehicles belonging to the group. Police forces evacuated 25.000 refugees from areas it had recaptured, Jawdat stated. Iraqi forces recaptured eastern Mosul in January after three months of fighting to retake the city that fell to Islamic State extremists in 2014. Police and supporting forces said recently they became closer to the Old City’s Nuri al-Kabir mosque, where IS supreme leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi declared the establishment of the group’s rule in Iraq and Syria. They had earlier recaptured the city’s airport and biggest military base besides several other districts since the launch of the campaign. The army’s leadership said recently government troops became in control over 50 percent of the region.

Iran creates cultural front against Terrorist groups

Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Reza Salehi Amiri said that Iran has created a cultural front against Terrorists like Takfiri groups in the Middle East. Amiri stressed on the need for developing cooperation between Tehran and Algiers. “Both countries have ideological and religious commonalities and they are able to take big steps in the Middle East and North Africa”, he said. He added cultural and art relations between the two countries are strong saying that Iran and Algeria have established good relations in sanitary, industrial, and agricultural fields. Salehi-Amiri left Iran for Algeria and Tunisia on Monday to sign documents on cultural and art cooperation.

Iran and Russia ties in new phase

President Rouhani told reporters that Iran and Russia have great potential and the necessary political will to develop cooperation and bilateral relations have entered into a new phase. The Iranian President went on to enumerate main axes of his talks with Vladimir Putin including transit of goods by connecting India to Eastern and Western Europe through Iran and Russia. Rouhani also enumerated other issues on which Tehran and Moscow shared similar views including preferential trade with 5 Eurasian countries, legal regime of the Caspian Sea as well as facilitating visa issuance for tourists as well as expansion of cultural and scientific relations.

Rudaw sees draft resolution from Arab leaders in Amman against Iran

Arab leaders at the 28th Arab Summit in Amman are urging action to condemn Iranian “meddling” in regional affairs in order to promote stability in the Middle East, according to a draft resolution, formed by 15 fundamental points, seen by Rudaw. Lebanon, Tunisia, and Iraq have, however, expressed reservations about the resolution. “We meet in a difficult Arab era dominated by crisis and conflicts that deprive our region of the security and stability they need to attain our people’s rights”, Jordan’s Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi told his fellow foreign ministers in a pre-summit meeting, Reuters reported. Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi travelled to Jordan on Tuesday evening to attend the summit.

Egypt discusses economic support with G-8 countries

Sahar Nasr, Minister of International Cooperation, announced that the government is continuing its negotiations with the G-8 countries to fulfill their commitments toward supporting the economic and social reform program signed by Egypt and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Nasr has announced an agreement with the French Development Agency, and she will be to Berlin on Friday to discuss other agreements with Germany. It was also an agreement with Great Britain, and Japan. Egypt trying to install its international position on economical fields.
