The educator Claudia Priest, 67, arrived in the Central African Republic January 6th would have to be two weeks in Bangui, during which he should present new projects and meet the local administration for the first time since the uprising against President François Bozizé in 2012 .

Dragged away brutally from his car by militians Anti-Balaka was held captive in difficult conditions with head injury without the possibility of medical care.

It is not the first case in the area, already a few days before he was kidnapped and later released twice an employee of the United Nations, held in the same neighborhood where he is believed to have been detained the cooperating French.

With these operations rebels anti-Balaka aim to secure the release of their leader and increase the ranks of their army, an action not planned but realized as immediate retaliation to the arrest.

The Bishop of Bangui led personally the delicate negotiations with the rebels and local authorities and managed to restore freedom the 67 year old Frenchman.

The kidnapping of the cooperating French is part of an even more complex that includes the upcoming consultations preceding the political forum of Bangui which was planned with the intent to solicit a national reconciliation.

Meanwhile, the violence of the two warring factions, the Islamists Seleka and the so-called Christian militias Anti Balaka, seem to have no end putting in serious doubt the ability of the UN mission that despite the deployment of personnel and equipment can not keep control of areas of expertise.
