in MIDLE EAST/PRESS RELEASE/REGIONS by

In comments on Monday, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi dismissed the latest Saudi-driven Arab League Foreign Ministers’ statement against the Islamic Republic of Iran. It came after Saudi Arabia convened an Arab League summit in Egypt to discuss alleged violations committed by Iran. FM Qassemi said the Arab League statement is “full of lies and distortions”. He added that the statement is the result of KSA political pressure on fellow Arab countries and the media propaganda financed by Saudi Arabia. Qassemi also stressed Iran’s efforts for regional peace, saying that such efforts have faced obstructive policies of Saudi Arabia that are based on fueling tensions. Finally, the spokesman highlighted that Saudi Arabia must stop following Israel’s policies and sponsoring terrorism. Since March 2015, more than 14.000 people have been killed and millions have been forced from their homes as a result of the Saudi Arabia military attacks against Yemen to restore power to the fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh.

in MIDLE EAST/PRESS RELEASE/REGIONS by

After some French President Emmanuel Macron’s comments in an interview with the United Arab Emirates-based al-Ittihad newspaper in which he urged inflexibility with Iran regarding its missile program and influence in the Middle East, top Iranian official Ali Akbar Velayati criticized and strongly rejected these remarks against Iran. Velayati warned that such acts of interference would discredit the French government in the eyes of Iranians and he stressed that Tehran will never ask for permission from anyone to enhance its missile program. “As an Iranian person familiar with the foreign policy issues and the French history, I recommend the president of that country (France) to try to follow General de Gaulle’s path during his term for foreign policy”, as he added. Even the senior adviser to Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei in an interview with IRIB said that “It is not in the interests of Macron and the French government to interfere in issues pertaining to Iran’s missile program and strategic affairs, about which the Islamic Republic is very sensitive”. Iranian President: outsiders harming the region

in MIDLE EAST/PRESS RELEASE/REGIONS by

During a cabinet session on Wednesday, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said that the presence of foreign powers hasn’t done any good for the region. By getting involved in the Middle East, foreign powers only upset the Middle East’s security by interfering in the region and seeking to market and sell their arms, preparing the ground for interference in the regional market, and playing with oil prices to pursue and maximize their own purposes. “Foreign presence in the region has only caused troubles”, as he said. President Rouhani criticized some regional countries for depending on foreign powers, such as Britain and the US, and for believing that big powers could establish and guaranteed security in the Middle East. Criticizing trans-regional powers for conducting wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria and Yemen, he also condemned Saudi Arabia for committing crimes against the defenseless Muslim people of Yemen. In fact, since March 2015, Saudi Arabia and some of its allies have launched a military campaign against Yemen to restore power to the fugitive former President Abd Rabbuh Mansour Hadi, a close ally of Riyadh and because of several attacks more than 14.000 people have been killed and millions have been forced from their homes while the country is facing severe famine and a deadly cholera outbreak.

Westerners’ human rights, political pretext

in MIDLE EAST/PRESS RELEASE/REGIONS by

On Tuesday in Tehran during a meeting with the members of Iran’s High Council of Human Rights, Iranian Judiciary Chief Sadegh Amoli Larijani, highlighted the different aspects of human rights issue in confronting with the West: the Western definition of human rights should not be taken as a divine word of no imperfection. He called thorough criticism of the Western edition of human rights and described the human rights case between Iran and the West a political case: “It seems that the US and Europe case against the Islamic Republic of Iran is not over observing the human rights considerations, because not far from Iran in the region we see what is happening in Bahrain where Bahraini citizens are fighting for suffrage while it is 40 years that we are holding elections in Iran”, as Amoli Larijani said. He continued underlighting how none of human rights propaganda against Iran is practiced against Saudi Arabia even though “in Saudi Arabia people have never heard of ballot boxes”, as he said. The senior official also declared: “All these show that the Westerners’ objective is political bid to pose pressure on the Islamic Republic of Iran while sometimes they also add a flavor of legal and theoretic arguments to their cases”. Iran’s Judiciary Chief said that he is against the presence of UN special rapporteur on human rights in Iran, dismissing the base for establishing the mandate, and that the dialogue with rapporteur in abroad should be upon the condition of effectiveness.
