During the meeting between Montenegrin Defense Minister Bošković and Bulgarian Defense Minister Karakachanov, the importance of a joint action between the two states to ensure regional security was discussed. As a member of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), according to Karakachanov, Montenegro plays a leading role in designing long-term peace and stability in the Western Balkans. Bošković has also stressed that Montenegro will actively support further integration of Western Balkan countries into NATO as well as contribute to the collective security system.
