China, Kyrgyzstan to establish comprehensive strategic partnership

China and Kyrgyzstan today agreed to establish a comprehensive strategic partnership. The agreement was reached during the talks between Chinese President Xi Jinping and visiting Kyrgyz President Sooronbay Jeenbekov in Beijing.  “It is another landmark event in the history of bilateral ties that China and Kyrgyzstan will establish a comprehensive strategic partnership, which will inject new impetus into the development of bilateral ties,” Xi told Jeenbekov. Standing at a new starting point, China is willing to work with Kyrgyzstan to carry forward the traditional friendship and conduct all-round cooperation so as to achieve national development and better benefit the two peoples, said Xi.

Noting that Kyrgyzstan was one of the first countries to support and participate into the Belt and Road Initiative and related construction, Xi said China would like to make joint efforts with Kyrgyzstan to open minds and explore potentials to lift bilateral cooperation to a new level.

 

Erdogan assesses Kyrgyz-Turkish relations and their further development

During a conference at the presidential complex with Kyrgyz counterpart Sooronbay Jeenbekov, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said Turkey will help in the fight against FETO, which posed “a great threat to Kyrgyzstan“ and had tried to derail Turkey-Kyrgyzstan relations. Erdogan added that the visit of President Jeenbekov is the best answer to FETO’s efforts, adding that Jeenbekov will be much more vigorous against FETO and take the necessary measures promptly. Jeenbekov said that the two presidents had “constructive and fruitful talks.

Jeenbekov said that the development of partnership relations with Turkey is the priority direction of his politics. He added that a common goal is to develop the level of high strategic business association forward and to achieve success in this area. The two countries signed some very important agreements during his visit, as the agreement in the field of social security.

Dacic in series of bilateral meeting on UNGA sidelines

First Deputy PM and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic and Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan Erlan Abdyldaev spoke in New York on Tuesday. According to the Serbian government, they “pointed to the importance of friendly and traditionally good relations between the two countries”. At a meeting held on the sidelines of the 72rd session of the United Nations General Assembly, Dacic invited Abdyldaev to visit Serbia by the end of this year. Abdyldaev pointed out that the position of Kyrgyzstan on the issue of Kosovo is solid – i.e., the country does not recognize the unilateral declaration of independence – and will not change regardless of the outcome of the upcoming presidential elections in that country. Dacic also spoke with the new Administrator of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Achim Steiner, and on this occasion it was estimated that the cooperation of Serbia and this organization was good. Dacic “expressed his gratitude for the assistance that UNDP provides to Serbia, and his that the successful cooperation with the UN team in Serbia will continue”. Dacic had the opportunity to meet with the World Bank Director, the President of Montenegro, the Presidency of the Presidency of Bosnia-Herzegovina, the foreign ministers of Italy, Norway and Kenya.
