Lulzim Basha, the opposition’s leader, defined the ARMO refinery issue a striking example of Prime Minister Edi Rama corruption. According to Basha: “Some EUR 50 Million were donated by Premier Rama to the refinery owner through unpaid taxes. The truth is that this sum went into the Premier’s pockets because the refinery’s owner is only the facade. This huge sum of money would be sufficient to pay for more than 3 years the salaries to over 1200 oil-workers that currently protest for the arrears and unpaid contributions”. Basha reiterated the invitation to the citizens to join the opposition’s protest for bringing down what he considers a corrupt government and replace it.
