Boris Jhonson promises to review travel warning for Tunisia.

British Foreign Minister Boris Jhonson made a brief visit on Tunisia on Wednesday. He promised to review the travel alert for the Country. He expressed to his counterpart Khemaies Jhinaoui british will to improve bilateral relations between two countries, especially in economic and financial fields, now that United Kingdom is leaving European Union. They talked about social and economic investments, about  teaching of English language in Tunisia, the improve of technologies and finance. They talked about the situation in Libya, Boris Jhonson admired the role of Tunisian government to resolve the civil conflict, in particularly the Tunis Declaration. Foreign Minister of Tunisia asked to Boris Jhonson to improve investments in the Country, and he renewed his call to recall the travel warning for Tunisia, “because”, he said, “Tunisia has the same level of security of the biggest European capital thanks to the collaboration with its partner, in particular with United Kingdom”.

 

Migrant detention centres get human rights training from IOM.

IOM (International Organisation for Migration) more involved in migrants life condition in Libya, after allegations of violences and bad living standards in migration detention centres. For the first time in three years, IOM has held training sessions inside some of Libya’s migrant detention centres on the of migrants’ human rights. In its initial pilot project, funded by the UK, the IOM has focussed on five places: three in Tripoli (Abu Sleem, Triq Al-Sikka and Airport Road), and at Khoms and Gharyan. Typical issues faced were language barriers, difficulties in dealing with health cases and helping those with mental health issues. Topics also discussed in the training sessions included disease prevention, identifying vulnerable cases and freedom of religion.With this kind of program, IOM, try to improve migrants global living conditions.

United Kingdom to help reform Saudi economy.

Statements from Theresa May’s office said the meeting between the british Prime Minister and Saudi Arabia will help the Kingdom to diversify its oil-dependent economy, changing tax and privatization standards, and also strengthening business ties. Concerning the security sector, May said that security relations between the two countries saved many lives in the UK and that Britain will help the Kingdom build a reformed Ministry of Defense. Moreover May’s visit to Saudi Arabia aims to find secure investments and trade and for that reason May presented Yasir Al-Rumayyan of the Saudi Public Investment Found (PIF) with a high level overview of investments opportunities. What the London Stock Exchange (LSE) and other top stock exchanges are trying to do is win a slice of state oil company Saudi Aramco’s initial public offering, as Saudi Arabia plans to transfer Aramco’s shares into the PIF before listing up to 5 percent the company. May also said Britain is a big supporter of Saudi Vision 2030, an ambitious reform plan, and due to this support many british officials will visit the Kingdom. In fine Theresa May and King Salman discussed the humanitarian situation in Yemen.

British Prime Minister may arrives in Riyadh today.

British Prime Minister Theresa May will be in Riyadh for a two-days visit during her tour that before led her to Amman. The aim of the visits to these two countries is to build stronger partnership in security, defense and trade. Moreover british ambassador Simon Collis said that bilateral relations between the United Kingdom and Saudi Arabia are historic but they will strengthen them due to the Kingdom exit from EU. May will meet King Salman and she will stress the importance of cooperation between the two countries, in particular in counter-terrorism. Concerning the trade, Saudi Arabia is UK’S largest trading partner in the Middle East and the Prime Minister expects to boost already existing bilateral ties. In fine in a statement the Prime Minister May said that for the security and prosperity of the UK is necessary to support Jordan and Saudi Arabia in tackle regional issues to create a more stable region.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received the United Kingdom’s Permanent Under Secretary and Head of the Diplomatic Service at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office Simon McDonald on Monday. The head of state said the agenda of cooperation issues is very comprehensive, pointing out the expansion of the bilateral relations.He appointed that the two countries enjoy very good relations in energy area, adding that Azerbaijan-BP cooperation spans over 25 years. Alyev added that British companies have become more interested in Azerbaijan’s non-oil sector recently, adding that this is in line with Azerbaijan’s economic diversification policy and will enhance business relations between the two countries.
