On Tuesday 45 EU envoys entered the blockaded Gaza Strip

45 European envoys, including 36 European Union consuls, entered the blockaded Gaza Strip on Tuesday morning via the Israeli-controlled Beit Hanun border-crossing. According to local sources the visit is the first of its kind in terms of the number of EU delegates who reached out to the blockaded coastal territory. The stopover involved diplomats from Sweden, Denmark, Malta, Slovenia, Ireland, Finland, Lithuania, Austria, Hungary, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Cyprus, Italy, Greece and Portugal. The local sources denied underway arrangements for meetings with political factions.

Blacksmith shops in Jenin and Hebron areas raided by Israeli forces

Israeli forces stormed two blacksmith shops during overnight raids across Jenin and Hebron districts.
In the first one troops seized the contents of the workshop and sealed it shut purportedly for being used for manufacturing weapons. Clashes erupted between soldiers and local youths who protested the raid and attempted to block their passage. Soldiers fired stun grenades and live bullets. No injuries were reported. Meanwhile, troops broke into and sealed another blacksmith workshop during a raid into the Hebron-area town of Yatta, purportedly for being used for arms manufacture. The owner of the workshop was detained for interrogation.

Two story house in East Jerusalem demolished by IOF

Israeli Occupation bulldozers on Tuesday morning have demolished a two-story house in Wadi Al-Joz neighbourhood, East Jerusalem. Locals in the area said that intense police forces and border guards and municipality staff arrived to the neighbourhood and began the demolition after evacuating the buildings. The demolition comes for the usual pretext of no building permit.

Two West Bank workshops were shut down by IDF on Tuesday

In early-morning raids Tuesday, Israeli troops shut down two workshops that were allegedly used to produce illegal weapons in Jenin and outside Hebron, the army said. A suspect was also arrested in connection with the workshop, an army spokesperson said. The owner of the workshop, along with two others, was arrested by the IDF troops and handed over to police and the Shin Bet security service for further questioning, the spokesperson said. A similar operation was carried out in the village of Yatta, outside Hebron, by the Judea Brigade, which is responsible for that area.

French plan of an International conference on the two-states solution approved by Palestinians

Palestinians on Monday welcomed a French plan to hold an international conference on the two-state solution in Paris at the end of December. In Jerusalem PM Netanyahu called on Abbas to immediately hold direct negotiations with him. Abbas has persistently rejected such calls, stating that Israel must halt all settlement activity and Jewish building in east Jerusalem before such talks could be held. Israel on Monday warned France that their plan only emboldens Abbas to continue to refuse to negotiate. Israel is committed to the peace process, but believe that a final status agreement with the Palestinians can only be reached through direct talks.

In a letter Netanyahu criticized Dayan for being one of the leaders of the orchestrated assault against him and that her show is an example of why a reform is needed in Israel’s media. Many journalists and politicians criticized the remarks saying to replace him to save democracy in Israel and that if Netanyahu didn’t want journalists to investigate him, he should have chosen another job.

Palestinian landowners against postponing evacuation of illegal Amona outpost

Palestinian landowners filed an appeal to the Israeli Supreme Court on Sunday rejecting demands to postpone the evacuation of the illegal Israeli outpost of Amona, according to a statement by Israeli human rights group Yesh Din. The appeal was filed by Israeli lawyers Michael Sfard and Shlomi Zacharaa, and called on the court not to respond to the demands of the Israeli State Attorney’s office, which requested the postponement on the basis that it could not arrange alternative housing for the residents of Amona before the target date of December this year.

MK Oded Forer (Yisrael Beytenu) proposed a law to remove illegal building from the list of internationally immune activities, in an attempt to stop the EU’s illegal Palestinian buildings in Area C. The EU has been funding illegal Arab constructions in Area C against the signed Oslo Agreements, aiding local Arabs to slowly encroach upon land that is not theirs. Jewish Home Education Minister Naftali Bennett’s has proposed that Israel apply sovereignty over Area C and annex it. If Forer’s law passes, Israeli authorities would be able to sue the EU for illegally building Palestinian Arab structures in Area C. Forer is expected to submit his proposal in the near future.

Netanyahu asks the US to continue supporting Israel

PM Netanyahu made a public plea on Sunday to the US to continue its support for Israel and not seek a UN resolution on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, “whoever wins” Tuesday’s election. In an apparent message to incumbent US President Barack Obama, Netanyahu told his weekly cabinet meeting he expects the “United States will remain true to its commitment for many years that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict can only be resolved through direct negotiations without pre-conditions, and of course not through decisions by the United Nations of other international bodies.”

Bomb ridde next to Mishtara checkpoint safely detonated by Israeli Police

Palestinian security passed on information to Israeli forces on a large bomb that they suspect was targeting the IDF in the Hebron area, Palestinian security sources said Sunday. The bomb, made up of an explosive charge attached to a large gas canister, was hidden next to the Mishtara checkpoint on the outskirts of the southern West Bank city. The bomb was found on the side of the checkpoint controlled by Palestinian security. It was safely detonated by sappers from the Israel Police bomb squad on Friday night, Israeli officials confirmed.
