The Minister of Religious Affairs and Wakfs, Mohamed Aissa said that the teaching of Tamazight will be mandatory this year in the three training institutes of Algerian imams in Bouira, Tizi Ouzou and Batna. In this context, the minister explained that students enrolled in institutes will learn the Amazigh language to understand and know their origins and to speak with pride to express their religion. “Today, the Amazigh language is official. It is therefore imperative for us to adapt the training of imams to this new situation. So we decided to open Tamazight sessions in three Imam training institutes in Bouira, Tizi-Ouzou and Batn”, he added.
