Flollowing the Saudi/UK SME Partnership Forum organized by the Saudi-British Joint Business Council, the co-chair of the Council Baroness Simons said that the UK is interested in build new partnership with privatesector companies in the Kingdom, due to its exit from the EU. The cooperation between the two countries will led to achieve the goals of the Saudi Vision 2030 and National Transformation Program (NTP) 2020. The co-chair also affirmed there will be a follow-up meeting in London. Moreover Baroness Simons said that Small and Medium Enterprises sector is a key area for british cooperation with the Kingdom and that small business and technology innovation are vital to the growth of both economies.
The United Kingdom is holding off from granting the incoming PLO Ambassador to London Maen Erekat a diplomatic visa, Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas told a pan-Arab newspaper in an interview published on Monday. Hamas said the the UK is trying to retrace his steps. The UK upgraded the status of the PLO representative office in London to a diplomatic mission in 2011, which granted Palestinian officials in the the UK the status of foreign diplomats. The current PLO Ambassador Manuel Hassassian holds a diplomatic visa. So we will know during this days.
European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker hit back at Donald Trump’s support for the U.K.’s withdrawal from the European Union, saying that he would champion American states that wanted to secede from the union. “The newly elected U.S. president was happy that Brexit was taking place and was asking other countries to do the same”, Juncker told delegates from his pan-EU Christian Democrat group in Malta. “If he goes on like that, I’m going to promote the independence of Ohio and the exit of Texas”.
A single terrorist attacked Westminster killing four people, included a police officier and wounding 40 other civilians, before being killed. He indiscriminately ran into people with a car on Westminster Bridge. The use of the vehicle to attack civilians was a direct copy of an Islamic State tactic used previously with murderous effect in Nice and Berlin. The initial working theories of the police investigation are the attacker was inspired by Isis and was most likely a “lone actor”.
