Syrian UNHCR envoy: Israel aiding Al-Qaida-linked terrorists.

Israel is helping terrorist groups in Syria including al-Qaida splinter group al-Nusra, Syrian Ambassador to the United Nations Human Rights Council Hussam Edin Aala charged in Geneva on Monday as he condemned the Israeli Air Force strike last Friday against military targets in his country. After the military aggression by Israel inside Syrian land is a proof of the support Israel provides to terrorist groups. According to Syria this is an act that violate the charter of the United Nation, international law and UN Security Council resolutions. Israel defends itself by saying that the airstrike was necessary to stop the flow of weapons to Hezbollah. Anyway the UNHRC is expected to pass a resolution at the end of this week that echoes that calls. It does so at every session.

Syrian militia leader killed in alleged Israeli drone strike.

At approximately 4 p.m. on Sunday, a militia commander loyal to the Bashar Assad regime was killed in an alleged Israeli drone strike in Syria. The drone fired in Syria, to Damasco.The U.K.-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the alleged Israeli strike was carried out near the town of Khan Arnaba on the Syrian Golan Heights. We know that al-Sayed was affiliated with President Bashar Assad’s regime and commanded armed militias operating on the Syrian Golan Heights.  Al-Sayed was assassinated after apparently planning and trying to carry out terrorist attacks against Israel, with the support of his Iranian colleagues and his militia fighters. According to the Prime Minister Lieberman he said that ISrael hasn’t got any interest to intervening in the civil war in Syria, going against Russia and Assad. Israel wants only to prevents weapons to Hezbollah. Anyway he Russians are still furious.

EU introduces sanctions sgainst Syrian officials to fight the proliferation and use of chemical weapons

The Council of the EU was adding high-ranking military officials over the alleged use of chemical weapons against civilians. “On 20 March 2017, the Council added 4 high-ranking military officials to the list of those targeted by EU restrictive measures against the Syrian regime. The EU added these 4 persons for their role in the use of chemical weapons against the civilian population, in line with the EU’s policy to fight the proliferation and use of chemical weapons”, the statement said.

Syria to UN: Israel violated our territory

Syria on Friday sent two letters to the U.N because they argue that Israel is violating the international law. In letters sent to the UN Secretary General and the President of the Security Council, the Syrian Foreign Ministry said that four Israeli warplanes violated Syrian airspace and targeted a military site in the eastern countryside of Homs province. Syria calls on the UN Secretary General and the President of the UNSC to condemn this blatant Israeli aggression, to force Israel to stop supporting terrorism in Syria, to implement all UNSC resolutions on counter-terrorism. The Israel’s Prime Minister said that he is trying to do everithing to prevent the transfer of advanced weapons. This flagrant attack is part of the Zionist enemy’s persistent efforts to support the terrorist gangs of ISIS”, the army said

Syrian air defense shots down one of 4 Israeli warplanes targeting military site near Palmyra

The General Command of the Army and the Armed Forced announced on Friday that the Syrian air defense downed one of four Israeli warplanes that violated the Syrian airspace and targeted a military site in the eastern countryside of Homs. According to a statement by the Command, the four Israeli aircrafts violated the Syrian airspace in al-Breij area through the Lebanese territories at 2:40 am.

Israel intercepted a Syrian anti-aircraft missile fired into Israeli airspace early Friday using an Arrow missile defense battery. The interception occurred after Israel Air Force fighter jets struck terrorist targets in Syria overnight. The Arrow was developed by the Israel Aerospace Industries together with American aerospace giant Boeing and the U.S. Iran, Israel’s archenemy, has been Syrian President Bashar Assad’s staunchest backer and has provided militia fighters to help him. Astana peace talks on Syria flop after rebel no-show.

Peace efforts for Syria floundered on March 15 as a third round of talks that were sponsored by Russia and Turkey ended with no progress after rebels refused to show up to a meeting in Kazakhstan.  Regime supporters Russia and Iran along with rebel-backer  Turkey have been pushing negotiations in Astana since January after gains on the ground by Damascus turned the tables in the six-year war. The latest two-day meeting saw a delegation from Damascus meet with representatives from the three powers, but leaders of armed rebel groups stayed away for the first time over alleged violations of a fragile cease-fire deal.
