Current cooperation between Yemen and Russia renewed

Acting Minister of Defense Husein Khairan met on Tuesday in Sana’a the acting Russian ambassador to Sana’a. During the meeting, they reviewed the current cooperation relations between the two countries, out of which the ongoing military cooperation between the two countries’ armies, in addition to a number of issues of common interest. Khairan affirmed readiness to facilitate tasks of the Russian acting ambassador in order to boost and expand cooperation relations between the Republic of Yemen and Russia. For his part, the Russian acting ambassador affirmed his country’s firm stance with Yemen’s unity, security and stability, affirming that he will exert all efforts in order to translate that in a way that serves relations of the two countries in different fields.

Isolating Russia always leads to severe consequences for Europe, according to Russian Foreign Minister

Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, during a conference at the Russian-German form dubbed  “ The Postdam Meeting” , asserted that efforts to isolate Moscow have repeatedly resulted in sever consequence for Europe. According to the Minister, in the modern interconnected world it is impossible to create separate security islands. He added that “ history has repeatedly proved that the attempts to isolate Russia always lead to sever consequence for the entire continent”. Regarding to Russian-German relation, Lavrov  affirmed that the development of relations between Russian Federation and Germany is an important factor in maintaining Europe’s security and stability. Russian Foreign Minister also said that Moscow is ready to discuss various initiatives, proposals and address the existing issues in a constructive way.

Saudi Arabia and China: more cooperation over terrorism and security

Saudi Arabia and China agreed to step up cooperation on various key issues including security, cordial ties and counter-terrorism during talks held in Riyadh on Sunday. The talks in Riyadh follow the signing of 15 preliminary agreements between Saudi Arabia and China in August, touching on a wide range of fields from energy to housing, during the visit of the deputy crown prince. The crown prince and several ministers attended the meeting, which also reviewed the strategic partnership and future cooperation to boost bilateral ties.

Bomb ridde next to Mishtara checkpoint safely detonated by Israeli Police

Palestinian security passed on information to Israeli forces on a large bomb that they suspect was targeting the IDF in the Hebron area, Palestinian security sources said Sunday. The bomb, made up of an explosive charge attached to a large gas canister, was hidden next to the Mishtara checkpoint on the outskirts of the southern West Bank city. The bomb was found on the side of the checkpoint controlled by Palestinian security. It was safely detonated by sappers from the Israel Police bomb squad on Friday night, Israeli officials confirmed.

Burkina Faso’s peacekeepers soldiers will be withdrawed from Sudan by July 2017

Burkina Faso has notified the United Nations that it will withdraw soldiers deployed as peacekeepers in Sudan’s troubled Darfur region by July next year, the foreign minister said late on Friday. The West African nation, which has a battalion of 850 soldiers serving in the nearly 14,000 troop strong U.N.-African Union hybrid mission, has suffered a series of deadly attacks at home amid a rise in Islamist militant violence. Burkina Faso’s government said in May that it would seek to bring some troops home to help reinforce domestic security.

Armed clashes in Balata refugee camp after Palestinian security forces raid

Palestinian security forces early on Friday raided the Balata refugee camp in the occupied West Bank city of Nablus for several hours. According to the governor, security forces carried out a security operation injuring at least seven Palestinians after armed clashes erupted between Palestinian forces and the residents of the camp. The aim of the security activity was to enter into any area to impose security, despite such measures often lead to deadly clashes with residents in the camp.
