A guard was killed in Saudi Arabia by a explosion on the border with Yemen, the Saudi state news agency SPA said on Friday, quoting an interior ministry spokesman. The spokesman said that a water delivery truck was carrying a bomb when it went off on Thursday evening at the border in the southern province of Jazan near the Yemen, killing Corporal Abdullah Farhan Jaber al-Maliki.

Arab coalition airstrikes targeted several positions of the Houthi rebels and forces loyal to ousted President Ali Abdullah Saleh across Yemen on Friday. Yemeni military sources confirmed that coalition warplanes had targeted and struck Houthi militia weapon caches in the southwestern city of Taiz. At the same time, the coalition warplanes bombed several mobile targets and weapons caches of the Houthi-Saleh alliance, in various parts of Saada province. The rebels responded with a counter attack, apparently targeting residential areas, as a result, an unknown number of civilians were killed or injured.

The Saudi Specialized Criminal Court on Tuesday sentenced to death 15 people convicted of spying for Iran; spy cell consisting of 32 terrorists, (30 Saudis, one Iranian and one Afghan. They are charged with forming a spy cell and communicating with the Iranian intelligence with the intention to harm the Kingdom’s security. Some accusations are: seeking to commit acts of sabotage against vital economic interests and facilities in the country, disturbing peace and public peace, attempting to damage the unity of the community, spreading chaos and sectarianism and carrying out acts hostile to the Kingdom. The most serious charges are high treason.

Arab coalition aircrafts targeted boats loaded with weapons that were being smuggled to Houthi militias off the coast of Mocha and Dhubab, west of Taiz, at the northern entrance to the Strait of Bab al-Mandeb in Yemen. Saudi Arabia and Arab Emirates have strong bilateral ties

The visit of Saudi Arabia’s King Salman to the United Arab Emirates underlined the depth of bilateral ties according to Sheikh Muhammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, crown prince of Abu Dhabi and deputy supreme commander of the UAE Armed Forces. “Our bilateral ties are based on the unity of the Emirati-Saudi political leaderships’ will as well as on the common aspirations of the two brotherly peoples” he said in a press statement. Muhammad emphasized that the UAE and Saudi Arabia were united in defending the rights and justice in Yemen as well as Arab security, and in confronting interference in the internal affairs of the region and plots against the security, sovereignty and the higher interests of Arab countries.
