US Embassy to lead Saudi delegation to Technology Conference.

The US Embassy in Kingdom is leading more than 140 saudi private sector representatives to Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) in Houston, in Texas on Monday. OTC is the biggest oil conference, where it is possible exchanging some of their own ideas and creating a fora of best practices. This conference allows each year to several industries to take advantages and to create partnership and to develop other aspects of oil markets. The saudi delegation will be assisted by Us Commercial Counselor Abbasi and by expert US Department of Commerce trade specialists. Constantly Us Department Commerce allows and facilities linkings and cooperations between Saudi Arabia and US in commercial and economic field.

 

Arabia donates $ 150 million at Yemen aid Conference.

Because of the war between the Houthi militias, aligned with Iran, and Saudi Arabia, Yemen is having a deep and dramatic humanitarian situation. First of all, they don’t have necessary instruments and needs in order to feed their children and most of them are about to die without essential sanitarian assistance. During the Yemen Aid Conference, held in Geneva on Tuesday, Saudi Arabia donated about 150 $Million in order to implement the cures and assistances to people. Most of people in Yemen are dying due to the war, but many of them also for the declared status of famine in the country. Because of this situation, UN and OXFAM are trying to find other donators in order to solve this problem and give some supports and efforts to Yemen.

 

 

Saudi Agriculture Exhibition to be held in October.

The goal is transforming agriculture activity in a real and pragmatic industry, which will give the opportunity to people to find jobs and so to develop richness and new working realities. Saudi Court gives death sentence to Shiite activist.

Saudi Arabia handed down death sentence to a Shiite activist on alleged charges of participating in activities against the Riyadh regime.The unnamed man was found guilty and sentenced to death by the Specialized Criminal Court in Riyadh on Sunday for his anti-regime activities, among other offenses, Arabic-language Saudi Arabian daily newspaper Okaz reported. The activist was reportedly accused of carrying out an armed attack on police and its checkpoints in Qatif’s village of al-Awamiyah in Saudi Arabia’s Eastern Province. His charges also included possession of white arms, spreading hatred against the ruling regime, and provoking people to carry out attacks against Saudi security forces. The monarchy is consistently singled out and criticized for its widespread violation of human rights. US-based Human Rights Watch and UK-based Amnesty International have both condemned Saudi Arabia for cracking down on activists and political dissidents. Back in March 2016, the Amnesty released a statement, saying the kingdom had enforced an “abusive” anti-terror law, which associates peaceful protests with terrorism and allows it to hand down lengthy jail terms to peaceful critics and human rights activists after holding “deeply unfair” trials for them.

US defense secretary to visit Israel as part of Mideast trip.

U.S. Defense Secretary James Mattis is scheduled to visit the Middle East this week, his first regional tour since taking office, the Pentagon said Saturday. Mattis is set to visit Israel, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Djibouti between April 18 and April 23.The Defense Department said the purpose of the trip was to “reaffirm key U.S. military alliances”, and “discuss cooperative effort to counter destabilizing activities and defeat extremist terrorist organizations”. Mattis will arrive in Israel on Thursday. But we have two meetings one with with Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman on Thursday and with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Friday. Lieberman and Mattis met in Washington on March 7, where both underscored the close defense ties between the U.S. and Israel.Mattis’ visit to Israel will take place against the backdrop of efforts by Washington and Jerusalem to reignite the stalled Israeli-Palestinian peace process. Mattis has said in the past that he believes the Judea and Samaria settlement enterprise was “obstructing the possibility of a two-state outcome” between Israelis and Palestinians.

United Kingdom to help reform Saudi economy.

Statements from Theresa May’s office said the meeting between the british Prime Minister and Saudi Arabia will help the Kingdom to diversify its oil-dependent economy, changing tax and privatization standards, and also strengthening business ties. Concerning the security sector, May said that security relations between the two countries saved many lives in the UK and that Britain will help the Kingdom build a reformed Ministry of Defense. Moreover May’s visit to Saudi Arabia aims to find secure investments and trade and for that reason May presented Yasir Al-Rumayyan of the Saudi Public Investment Found (PIF) with a high level overview of investments opportunities. What the London Stock Exchange (LSE) and other top stock exchanges are trying to do is win a slice of state oil company Saudi Aramco’s initial public offering, as Saudi Arabia plans to transfer Aramco’s shares into the PIF before listing up to 5 percent the company. May also said Britain is a big supporter of Saudi Vision 2030, an ambitious reform plan, and due to this support many british officials will visit the Kingdom. In fine Theresa May and King Salman discussed the humanitarian situation in Yemen.

British Prime Minister may arrives in Riyadh today.

British Prime Minister Theresa May will be in Riyadh for a two-days visit during her tour that before led her to Amman. The aim of the visits to these two countries is to build stronger partnership in security, defense and trade. Moreover british ambassador Simon Collis said that bilateral relations between the United Kingdom and Saudi Arabia are historic but they will strengthen them due to the Kingdom exit from EU. May will meet King Salman and she will stress the importance of cooperation between the two countries, in particular in counter-terrorism. Concerning the trade, Saudi Arabia is UK’S largest trading partner in the Middle East and the Prime Minister expects to boost already existing bilateral ties. In fine in a statement the Prime Minister May said that for the security and prosperity of the UK is necessary to support Jordan and Saudi Arabia in tackle regional issues to create a more stable region.

 

Envoy invites Saudi Arabia to join Germany in shift to green energy.

During the opening of the exhibition “German Energy Transition” german ambassador Haller invited Saudi Arabia to join Germany transition to green energy from oil and uranium, due to the Kingdom availability of sun and wind. The german ambassador said also that “Germany is willing to cooperate with the Kingdom on a government level and on a private-sector level”. Moreover the german embassy said that the country decided to switch the entire energy supply to renewables by 2050 using a precise roadmap and in 2016 the share of renewables in German gross domestic power production 30 percent. In fine the ambassador commended the Saudi government for taking steps to introduce renewables in the local energy production.

Iran calls for putting an end to bloodshed in Yemen.

On the second anniversary of aggression of the so-called coalition forces led by Saudi Arabia against Yemen, Iran’s Foreign Ministry issued a statement on Sunday to strongly condemn the blatant warmongering and called for putting an end to the devastating war and bloodshed in the country at the earliest. The Islamic Republic of Iran underlines its proposed four-article plan to stop conflict and bloodshed, dispatch of relief aid, removal of the unjust siege and unfair economic sanctions imposed on people in Yemen, and calls for establishment of a political dialogue and formation of a national unity government and urges the international community to spare no efforts to alleviate pains and sufferings of people in Yemen mainly those of children and women, read the statement.

Saudi Arabia calls for more experts at Yemen human rights office

As reportde by the Saudi Press Agency (SPA) the Kingdom stressed the need of delegating more experts to the Yemen-based Human Rights Commision’s Office, in order to back up workings of the Indipendent National Committee, which identyfies violations and trespasses committed on the ground. Moreover, during the 34th session of the Human Rights Council, the Saudi Ambassador to the UN in Geneva underlined the Saudi support for the Yemeni government to reach peace and mitigate suffering of the Yemenis. He also renewed the call to the International community to support Yemen’s legitimate government to resume the peace process.
