The independent permanent Human Rights Commission (IPHRC), which is part of Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), has a new headquarter, whose inauguration was promoted by the head executive director of IPHRC on Tuesday. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, al-Jaber, and the al-Othaimeen, general secretary of Jeddah-based OIC, have taken part to the inauguration. The IPHRC was established by OIC in 2011 and it is considered as an expert and independent body, whose its duties concern guaranteeing and monitoring Human Rights. The Commission is composed by 18 experts, coming from all OIC member States. Reports are reviewed to council as recommendations, after analyzing them, the Council can take needed actions. Actually the priorities of Commission are monitoring Human rights in Palestine, in addition to guaranteeing children and women human rights.
During a workshop held by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Research Center for Islamic Histrory in Istanbul they reviewed the OIC Islamophobia Observatory’s work about the rise of anti-Muslim sentiment in the West, the role of the diaspora in combating Islamophobia and intolerance and religious discrimination and the role of member states in combating Islamophobia. The participants, 26 OIC member states, 5 institutions, 6 panelists, 33 experts and 3 moderators, came up with rules and actions to be undertaken by the observatory.
Turkey will intensify its efforts against racism, Islamophobia and xenophobia on all international platforms, especially at the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) as Turkey’s government is currently the term president, President RecepTayyipErdoğan said March 14. “This matter is not a matter merely for Turkey. This fascism that shows its dirty face is negatively impacting all Muslims and foreigners living in Europe”, he said at a Doctor’s Day meeting. Erdoğan called on Turks, Muslims and foreigners living in Germany and the Netherlands not to vote for parties that espouse anti-Turkey policies. In a new attack against the Dutch in their spat, Erdoğan also held the Netherlands responsible for Europe’s worst mass killing since World War II.
