India: One civilian killed, two jawans injured as militants attack Army patrol party in Shopian district

A civilian was killed and two jawans were injured after an Army patrol party was attacked by militants in Kashmir’s Shopian district on Thursday. The attack came hours after a joint operation was conducted by the Army, CRPF and state police to flush out hiding militants in Shopian. The operation, considered the biggest in over a decade, targeted militants who have been attacking security forces in the Valley. Over 4,000 troops were deployed to comb several villages in the districts, while helicopters and drones circled the air. The operation was conducted in the wake of multiple attacks against security forces this week.

Armed groups CMA withdraw from checkpoints in northern Timbuktu

CMA Military groups agreeded to withdrow from the checkpoint they did occupy since 5 march at Timbouctu. But thei demands was not satisfied and the tension remain. The CMA fighters, this friday, gave up to Malese Army the checkpoint they did occupy. The decision was taken after a meeting with Minusma leader and french officers from Barkhane operation: they asked to militants leaders to withdrow from the checkpoints, occupied in violation of Algeri Agreement. The army groups leader accepted to leave, but they asked, in return, their complains to be taken in account, and even though none agreement has been signed they have been assured that their message will be transm,itted to the hightest level. Last week CMA army group attacked two checkpoint in the northern part of Timbouctou, threatening to attack the city too: they wanted to protest against the installation of Taoudeni regional president Hamoudi Sidi Ahmed, a native from the village of Araouane.

957 suspected ISIL militants caught in February in Turkey

The Niger Delta Avengers resumed destruction of oil and gas infrastructure, yesterday, when it bombed a Chevron-operated export pipeline at Escravos in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State. The attack on the major pipeline came as a surprise to security forces in the oil-rich region, as they had lowered their guard in anticipation of a negotiated peace agreement between the militants and the federal government. The militant group claimed its Strike Team 06 brought down the export pipeline at about 3:45 a.m. yesterday as warning to all international oil companies (IOCs) to heed to its warnings not to effect repairs to their bombed facilities pending the negotiations or dialogue with the people of the Niger Delta.
