La situazione in Medio Oriente dopo il 7 Ottobre

L’attacco che Hamas ha condotto contro lo Stato di Israele, lo scorso 7 Ottobre, rappresenta un ulteriore episodio del conflitto che devasta il Medio Oriente da circa un secolo (anno più, anno meno).

Per poter comprendere tale nuova fase di questa guerra infinita, è necessario esaminare gli aspetti che ad essa sono connessi al fine di potere avere una visione complessiva del suo significato.

President Trump arrives in Israel

President Trump’s arrival, joining US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman, Israeli Ambassador to the US Ron Dermer, Israeli ministers, and IDF top brass set to greet the president.Air Force One touched down in Israel Monday afternoon, marking the second leg of President Trump’s five-state trip; his first trip abroad as president. trump called Nethanyau “his old friend”. Nethanyau, when Trump was arrived he said that “welcome my friend”. Nethanyau also said “Your visit is a symbol of the unbreakable bond between Israel and America. You are the president of Israel greatest, most important ally. You are true friends of Israel and the Jewish people.“Mr. President, the world needs a strong United States. The Middle East needs a strong United States. Israel needs a strong United States. And may I say, the United States needs a strong Israel”. In the evening Nethanyau host Trump and his wife at a state dinner in the Prime Minister’s residence.

Israel remembers its fallen ahead of Independence Day celebration.

Gadi Eizenkot also spoke at the ceremony, saying, “The legacy of Israel and the IDF was written by courageous individuals who charged and continued to fight even in impossible situations. It is a legacy of achieving goals, fighting without compromise and completing missions”.

 

 

Israel Defence Forces thwarts security incident on Israel-Gaza border: terrorist killed

The Israel Defense Forces foiled a security incident on the Israel-Gaza Strip border in the early hours of Wednesday morning. One terrorist was killed and two others were wounded in the incident, one of this have only eighteen years old. We know that IDF troops on routine patrol along the border detected suspicious movement on its eastern part, near Rafah. The Palestinian news agency Maan said that the local residents reported hearing gunshots and sounds of explosions, adding Israeli Air Force aircraft were heard flying over the border.

New ISIS target has been struck by IDF

The IDF on Monday morning again responded to an ISIS attack on Sunday against the Israeli Golani Reconnaissance Battalion operating along the Syrian border. Some 10 tons of explosives were said to have been dropped by the IAF on the ISIS target in the retaliatory strike. A military spokesman said that the strike had targeted “an abandoned military facility, which was previously used by the United Nations and served as a location for ISIS to consolidate their offensive forces and operations near the border. This is a response to the attack performed yesterday, and was aimed at preventing the return of the terrorists to the facility which would constitute a substantial threat in the area.”

Artillery strike on Syrian army targets launched by IDF

On Wednesday the IDF launched an artillery strike on Syrian army targets in the norther Golan Heights in response to a mortar shell that fell in Israeli territory earlier in the day. The mortar shell was thought to have breached the border as fallout from fighting in Syria, however the IDF said it holds the Syrian regime responsible for all activities emanating from its territory. No injuries or damages were reported in the attack.

Errant fire from the conflict in Syrian has sporadically landed in Israeli territory during the country’s more than five-year civil war.
