Thousands of Hamas supporters on Saturday called for “revenge” during the Gaza funeral of an official from the Palestinian Islamist movement gunned down the previous day. Israel on tuesday announced the arrest of the head of a Turkish humanitarian group in Gaza for giving terror financing to Hamas’ military wing in an announcement which could have broader impact on Israel-Turkey relations. It was further discovered during the investigation that, beginning in 2012, Murtaja served as the Gaza Strip coordinator of TİKA. TİKA works on behalf of the Turkish government to advance humanitarian projects in the Gaza Strip. The investigation showed that Murtaja deceived TİKA by misusing the organization’s resources and funds, which were intended for substantial humanitarian projects in the Gaza Strip, by diverting them to Hamas’s military wing. This fraud was carried out in collusion with the senior ranks of Hamas in Gaza, headed by Ismail Haniyeh. Murtaja gave financial help, loas and many funds were used or the Hamas military wing was used, inter alia, to build a facility to train Hamas navy commandos, as well as to purchase equipment and weapons. But this are not an alternative to the diplomatic process, and they must not be seen as a gesture of good will. It is the obligation of the occupier to the occupied.

An Israeli minister said that the Israeli army will soon possess a new robot technology that can assassinate Hizbullah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah and Hamas leaders, an Israeli news report said. Leaders of Hamas movement and Abbas met for reconciliation

Hamas politburo head Khalid Mashaal, his deputy Ismail Haniyeh, and Abbas met in Qatar on Thursday. Leaders of the Hamas movement announced that they had offered Abbas a “complete vision” to achieving reconciliation between Hamas and the ruling Fatah movement. Palestinian Authority reported that during the meeting Abbas stressed national reconciliation “and removing all causes of division by forming a national unity government and holding elections.” The two parties agreed that achieving reconciliation was the key to “saving the Palestinian national project and facing the Israeli government’s plans of destroying the two-state solution.”
