Bassil maintains Free Patriotic Movement rejection of Parliament mandate extension.
Head of the Free Patriotic Movement, Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil, on Monday maintained rejection of the extension of the Parliament’s mandate, vowing to face the attempts to do so. “We will not accept the extension and we shall face it. Also, we neither war the 1960 law nor void. We want a new fair law”, Bassil said following a meeting for FPM’s political council.”When we proposed hybrid modes, we wanted to move from a sectarian status to a civil one. We have provided three proposals and there are three ideas on-the-table”, he added.
