As part of a report presented by the Yemeni Deputy Minister of Human Rights Mohammed Askar during a human rights council meeting in Geneva on Monday, nearly 38,000 Yemeni civilians have been killed and injured at the hands of the Houthi militias and those allied to ex President Saleh since the war began in 2014. Askar also said that Houthi bombing in populate dare as, villages, farmlands and roads led to 673 civilians injured and dead, mostly women and children. Moreover in the report it was declared that 16,804 activists, reporters and academics were kidnapped by the militia and those who have been released suffer from serious health and psycological issues. In the report it was also underlined the use of children to fuel militia’s war.
Former President of the Republic of Yemen, President of the General People’s Congress, strongman Ali Abdullah Saleh congratulated the Yemeni people on the occasion of the 49th anniversary of the independence day, when Yemen got freedom from Britain in 30th November 1967, calling the nation to move forward for more and more victories. “In the occasion of this great day, I would like to salute you our people, men, women, youth and elders, and through you, I would like to extend my solute to the heroes of the army, security and popular forces who are in front lines on the occasion of the 49th anniversary of the independence day” leader Saleh told to the nation.
Former President of Yemen, the president of General People’s Congress party (GPC), Ali Abdullah Saleh, said that those who were trying to split GCP national alliance with Ansarullah are only the aggression infiltrators. In an article published on his official Facebook, Saleh said that those who were trying to split the national alliance and cast doubt on the credibility of this alliance between the GPC and Ansarullah work in behalf of the aggression and their schemes aiming to harm the nation’s unity, the revolution, the republic. “The higher public interest of the nation requires doubling national efforts to confront the aggression and preserve the nation’s unity, security and stability,” Saleh stressed.
On Wednesday, Saudi forces stationed on the southern border repelled an attack by Houthi militias and forces loyal to ousted President Ali Abdullah Saleh. The attack targeted Al-Dood Mountain in the Al-Khobah area. Saudi forces launched a counterattack that resulted in the death of at least 15 Houthi fighters and the capture of four others by the Parachute Brigade. Dozens of militiamen fled the battleground, abandoning their weapons.
President of the General People’s Congress (GPC), Ali Abdullah Saleh, said either honorable peace or continuing confrontation until victory: “We at the time of renewing our people readiness to positively deal with all peace-seeking initiatives that aim to stop bloodshed, preserve the Yemeni unity, integrity, security and stability, and achieve fair, comprehensive peace for Yemen and the region.., we at the same time confirm that if the Saudi aggression did not stop, then the Yemeni people are in the highest degree of readiness today, militarily and popularly, to continue fighting the aggression at all levels and in all circumstances until victory”.
