A complete shutdown is being observed in Indian-held Kashmir today (Tuesday) after a separatist group announced a protest against the killing of eight civilians by Indian forces in wake of failed Srinagar elections. Heavy contingents of police and paramilitary forces have been deployed to maintain law and order in Srinagar and other places. According to The Huffington Post, train services between the valley and Jammu region’s Bannihal town also remained suspended. Internet services, both on mobile and fixed landline connections, remained shut for the third day on Tuesday.
