Saudi armed forces guarding on the southern border thwarted an attack by the Yemeni Houthi militias and forces loyal to ousted President Ali Abdullah Saleh before daybreak on Sunday. The attack was staged opposite the Alab crossing-point in the southern Zahran region. Members of the Saudi forces were able to kill up to 40 of the attackers, while Arab coalition planes targeted a large group of militiamen across the Saudi border, an army source said, and also conducted a hot-pursuit operation inside Yemen to cleanse one of the locations that has pockets of Houthi militiamen and Saleh supporters. Meanwhile, the forces allied with the legitimate government in Yemen are involved in fierce battles to the west of Tashreefat to stop the Houthi militias from entering the region.
